  1.  Guys I penned the following earlier thought better and copy pasted in my word file. (hate to write it again JIC) Most are aware that there is some

bad blood between Hike and me , but you know I think I got it right more so "miagi" got it right. So here it goes, now dig deep don't go with the

gut and look at it from the other side, be objective.Let me prefix by saying Hike is no scamer/get over not in the least and

is a generous and good hearted guy, but something ain't right here.............. and it ain't about this happening it is about our attitude.

Yes they should have been mentioned and as Hike is a very capable photographer I am curious as to his choice of camera angle in the sales thread seems the buyer is to. That being said  you were offered a full refund so take it or live with the imperfections.

miagi- point well taken, something we must guard against.

Extra ,Marty- never should have had to or is it your position to sell  and if there is a defect that evident undisclosed just take it back? Hmm........

daniel- I cannot concur for reason stated above.

Typical sales should include full disclosure in description and pictures.  So in general, the answer is yes if the sales were misrepresented intentionally or accidentally or however then absolutely.  But I would see that as a last option....you have to try to work it out and I think that is what OP tried to do.   It would have to be agreeable to both to make it work.  In this case, seller opted not to and offered full refund.   It can't get any better than that.

The only thing we have of true value in the forum is our reputation.

  2. from what I've heard:

    1) apply a product to make it water resistant before you wear it for the first time

    2) Keep it on a shoe tree to suck out the sweat and oils from your feet

    3) Apply conditioner once every 3 months to keep the leather moisturized, even if you don't wear them

    4) Polish your shoes with  a color specific or colorless shoeshine every 5 wears (10 max)

Why would you do this at work? You will need to keep the brushes and the polishing cloth there too. That's the kind of thing I'd do at home.

I did the water resistant thing and boy was it ever difficult to put the shoe polish on afterwards....it beaded and left white spots....had to wash/wipe off the water repellent film.  Then i just used the shoe polish after that.

For work, no need to bring the whole kit.  I use the sponge block that is pre-treated with polish to wipe off dust and minor dirt....and puts the shine back one.  I also keep a bottle with the sponge applicator on top just in case.

In some case, i put a rubble sole (not heel) to protect and prolong the life of the shoes.

  3. Always brush off dirt and wipe off any crap right away. Dont let it sit to dry specially salt...it will ruin the surface. Try not to wear the same shoe for more than 2 days. Have more than one per color so you can rotate and not over wear. I keep a bottle of liquid shoe polish at work for emedgency.

  4. Why leave the bracelet? I mean, at that point, take it all. I would love to see it turn up somewhere "we" frequent. Offer a F2F and then... Well, I'm not as colorful as Z but I'm sure we can figure something out.

Clearly someone have to know what's in the box. When its scanned and one can see the contents....but you will need to have the tool ready to do it though...it almost suggest that this person© know exactly what they are looking for and to do...its really odd to just take the head??!!  This person had a lot of time and probably worked alone to be able to remove the spring bars instead of pocketing the entire watch.   Where would that be?

  5. That's my problem I don't want to get screwed over just because has tracking information so he can prove that he sent the package even though the contents were not what I ordered. I just want To know if I need to submit pictures or how the whole PayPal dispute process works

Let me share my experience. A couple of times I have been in your shoes. The last one arrived with tracking in a box and I thought the box was a little small and light. My suspicion was correct....I opened the box and found a dirty rag. I was furious. I immediately filed a paypal dispute and selected 'Not as described' and got turned down. Paypal's reason was that they do not guarantee or warranty the quality differences..from a rag?!. I could not believe it myself. I am not saying your case is hopeless but use mine as an example of what not to do. My 2 cents and good luck.

  6. In 3 - 2 -1, Esquire will take a heap of 5hit for this from their advertisers who make the real version of the Homages presented.

I won't be surprised when that article goes offline.

Exactly.  They will just pull all advert and send their marketing dollars to GQ...unles they did the same thing.
