  1. I also checked with some pictures from web, looks like a real eta mov't, and dealer promised it is a real eta with higher cost than sw240, not sure if it's correct ! Whatever, I feel something unsatisfactory on my purchase.

Sounds like you got a nice surprise upgrade without additional charge.

  2. I don't understand how hard is it to have a square shot of the watch and send it as a QC....All these angular shots in QC's, what for?

A QC shot should be like this one here

The best QC shots that I've seen are from Mary and Marvellous Replica both TD's on RWG *the other one*.

Indeed it should be fairly easy and a standard shot for a QC pic...i mean that's what its meant for.    Angular shots from what I have observed tend to increase the chances of missing crookedness and shadows covering up messy lume.

  3. Here is the last picture I talked about.

You can see the misalignement @ 12 if you are aware of it..

Yes now you can definitely see it....but still a bit far to call out.  I tried to rotate the larger images and guess what?  I can't tell with the angle shots.  What one really need is a dial shot straight on to be able to properly review and approve the QC pics.

Also because the pics resolutions are weak, the white and silver can play tricks on you and may come across as 'shadows' when in fact its crappy lume.

  4. In Canada, fraud under 5K is an indictable offense that carry a maximum jail term of 2 years.  I think you have enough information from the package and have this reported to the Ottawa police.  You have all the information available to perhaps report a fraud.  Show this M*&#@KER that he can't hide behind a keyboard and get away with a scam

  5. Let's assume that you buy a rep from a TD. You get the QC pics and you approve them, and then wait for your watch. When it arrives you find out that not only it's not the watch you approved, it has a major flaw that other reps doesn't have. Someone at the factory wasn't at his best and did something totally wrong. It makes a super rep that you payed quite a bit for into a warch that screams fake everytime you look at it.

What would you expect a good TD do at that situation? Who should pay for his mistake?

The TD of course.  But it makes you wonder about the whole QC thing though.....

  6. I had a couple of genuine Breitlings years ago. I found them to be very expensive, this was back in the early to mid 1990's. i had a couple of factory services (They had to send the watches back to Switzerland back then), the main complaint was they wanted to change out a lot of stuff that I didn't feel necressary, such as the Gold markers on the bezel at 3,6,9 and 12, crown. crystal as wel las a complete service, which was fine. even back then which was 25-26 years ago, the costs were up around 400-600 USD.

I believe that the fellow could have done a whole lot better taking the watch to a competent Breitling certified watchmaker. Probably got everything done for 50% or less than Breitling.

I got even with them however. Back in the early 1990's Breitling was just getting established here in the USA, they sent every owner a nice little Christmas gift, Chocolates, etc. Well, in 1995, they had a drawing for a lot of nice prizes. I entered , never heard anything for several months, one night, phone rang, daughter answered, said"Dad, it's some lady from Breitling" I got on the phone, she asked me my name, I told her, she said"You won the grand prize in our drawing, all expense paid trip for two to Switzerland for a week, round trip Business class on Swiss Air, first class hotels, and SwissRail passes. All we paid for was our food and what we bought to bring home. Even ate lunch at the Victoria Jungfrau,in Interlaken with the president of Breitling USA. We wanted to tour  Breitling, but it was getting close to August 1st, and they were getting ready to shut down for their summer holiday. Totally off the subject i know, but an interesting Breitling story!!

Servicing at Breitling largely remain unchanged.  They still do send it back to replace a lot of the parts, overhaul and polish.  If I recall correctly, it cost between 600-650 to get the maintenance done.
