  1. Hello all I'm interested in purchasing a Schumacher Legend Speedmaster from a TD. I had originally ordered a Vintage Rolex Daytona with a hand-wind, Venus movement. I have been disappointed with the quality of the markings on these watches and really love the Omegas - they look much more accurate than the Rolex. However, I have noticed the Omega's appear to have the older Asian 7750 movement - 21,600 the other at 28,800 bph. Has anyone bought an older movement piece like this - I understand that each piece is different (as is reliability), but I'm concerned that I could end up buying an expensive paper weight. From my research, I understand that a serviced/cleaned up Asian 7750 is a reliable watch - but servicing in the UK for rep watches is either near impossible or extremely expensive (more than the value of the watch!). It seems like all TDs are sourcing these pieces from the same factory and operate in fairly close proximity to each other? Are there no reputable watchmakers/servicers who would be able to service the watch before its shipped out to me? Has anyone done this before and had this arranged by a TD? Thanks in advance for any advice. Kiran
  2. Hello all I've received my QC's for a Rolex Daytona - I wasn't happy with the dial (the markers were not centred). TD sent the watch back to the factory and got another...again, the markers were off. It was definitely a different watch, as different markers were off this time. It is very easily visible to the naked eye that the markers are out of line. The marker at 12 was off centre - some of the dots are out of line etc. The TD is doing his part, so no complaints about him. My question is: 1. Am I being too picky? I don't see the point in buying the watch, if I'd be too embarrassed to wear it. Are factories just this careless? 2. Should the TD be inspecting the watches more carefully when picking them up from the factory? These are glaring errors which I would hope that they spot immediately. I hate wasting their time (as well as mine) and I'm sure he'll get annoyed with me if I'm rejecting all QC's. I appreciate that TDs are paid before they supply QC's - but if I'd seen these before, I would not have bought it at all. This is not a cheap rep either - its approx $250 Any experience in this matter. How many times have you rejected watches before the TD loses patience with you? Thanks in advance for any advice. Regards K12AN

  4. I am more concerned with the visual appearance of the watch. The ones which I've seen have some very obvious errors i.e fonts are wrong, too many words (Oyster, Cosmograph and DAYTONA) - even worse, the subdials aren't correctly positioned. Is there a rep available (without mods) which is visually accurate at least. The movement etc is a separate issue all together
  5. Hello all I love the look of the 6263 Daytona and wanted to know which would be the best rep to go for in terms of appearance (to the original). An example of one which I'm looking at is: pure-time.com/product/daytona-6263-white-dial Thoughts please? Thanks for any advice K12AN
  6. I'm comparing the JF and the NOOB from photos to the original and it appears that NOOB has better attention to the fine details. Subdial at 12 is silver (JF is white) and NOOB rear centre screw looks more like original. However, the NOOB version looks like it uses a Safari case (which is slightly boxier than chronograph). Can anyone confirm my observations? I really like the colouring on this watch and am stuck on choosing between the NOOB and JF version.
