The phrase "going Dutch" probably originates from Dutch etiquette. In the Netherlands, it is not unusual to pay separately when dating. The Dutch were already internationally known as scrooges, and English rivalry with The Netherlands especially during the period of the Anglo-Dutch Wars gave rise to several phrases including Dutch that promote certain negative stereotypes. Examples include Dutch courage, Dutch uncle and Dutch wife. The particular stereotype associated with this usage is the idea of Dutch people as ungregarious and selfish. So what do you mean? ... holding up fine, always depends on the wearing time. For daily wear after 6 months @ the crown and case back it might fade, but again some cases are claimed to be RG "DLC" plated, so these should ho;ld up much longer! The best option in the past has been RG-ceramic as used on some long ago HBBs... I had/have such and after 3 years daily wear all is still good....
