  1. Tighter variations on gens, I'd imagine? The bracelet is a used gen, circa 2008
  2. Hello I've got a gen 93250 bracelet that is slightly loose on my TC v6 (lug width is approx 20.15mm), which got me wondering, which case is the best for accepting gen components for a SEL 16610? By best, I refer to how well it accepts gen components like bracelet, watch back, bezel, etc, shape of CG, finish, etc. not too concerned about engravings. Super Franken modders out there, what are your thoughts? TC vs star time vs phong vs Sean?
  3. Your 16803 is insanely good, by the way. I'm trying to get to something of a similar standard with a 16610
  4. Thanks for the info ST case will only accommodate a 3135 or yuki 3135 movement, is that correct? Or can a TC movement be shoehorned in?
  5. Where are ST midcase from? I'm looking for a midcase that will precisely accomodate a gen 93250 bracelet. Ie gen SEL alignment.
  6. TC makes the 16610 LN and 16610 LV. The LN is $545 + $22 for shipping to the UK. I've ordered a couple and have not had any issues with delivery to the UK. I'm based in London. Just be prepared to wait! Typically 6 weeks or so for mine! But well worth the wait...they are fantastic.
  7. Agreed. TC is the way to go for quality.
  8. I thought my crystal had a strange blue-ish tint on my new TC sub! Got a nice gen crystal installed by watcher last week...looks amazing now! He did a great job!
  9. Hello, I'm new to the Panerai scene, having previously been a fan of the Rolex Submariner range. Are there any stand-out, high grade, low volume manufacturer(s) of Panerais that use gen construction that are made to a very high standard, like the TC Submariner? N00b seems to be the most common version I've come across so far. Apologies if this is a bit of a noob question. Thanks
  10. I'm in the market for a gen 16610 crown for $50, if anyone has one
  11. I find part of the challenge and fun is sourcing the gen parts at below "market value", and if ambitious, trying to maintain period correctness Very nerd, I know
  12. Agree with you though...there comes a point where it becomes illogical. 90% accuracy (or more with TC sub) can be achieved for $USD545 + postage and the reminding 10% ( or less) can cost up to USD 3000 if replacing with gen movt, insert, crystal, bracelet, crown, click spring, etc
  13. 4.3k...AUD? Great deal! They tend to be about 3.9 to 4.2k GBP in London! Where did you source yours?
  14. Were the CGs on the Sean case as good, or better than the TC?
  15. Sean case...is it possible to source them new? If so, from where/who? Very good fit with the SEL with your watch?
  16. I've got a gen 93250 bracelet that is getting restored that I intend on installing onto a TC v6. However as y'all are probably aware, the lugs aren't the most precise and can vary between 20.10mm and 20.15mm, which can make the SEL fit slightly loose. Is there a case out there that will precisely accomodate a gen bracelet, but also has gen construction and will accept TC bezel assembly, TC backcase, TC 2824 or yuki 3135 movement, TC KH dial, crown, gen crystal, etc?
  17. Interesting plan! Where do you intend on sourcing the D series case and crystal?
  18. Very nice! I just found a gen crystal and also getting a gen 93250 bracelet restored ATM...will be a few weeks before it's ready!
  19. Agreed...the attention to detail is amazing. Did u get the LV or ln? Agreed...the attention to detail is amazing. Did u get the LV or ln?
  20. Hi, I've just picked up a gen crystal for my TC v6. Can anyone recommend a reputable modder or watchsmiths that are sympathetic to our cause that would be able to install it? Cheers
