  1. I have been eyeballing the Santos for sometime - in fact I think I am going to head to my local Cartier AD today to check it out - thanks for the rec

@PFGTR - Since I can't sell my HBB :black_eye: I am thinking of putting a gummy on it to see if that does the trick for me. I know this may be counter-intuitive, but after working with TAG's I have become disenchanted with them. Perhaps its like working at a brothel, but they just don't do it for me anymore. The straight carrera is really sharp though.

TAG adding the Day-Date carerra was one of there best additions a really beautiful piece...... unlike the Calibre 36 :whistling:

(BTW I have some TAG advert in the GD section I am auctioning for the forum, there is a poster of your Carerra available  )

I have never considered the railmaster though, another good call. Thanks!

No problem, I hope whatever you decide on brings you some enjoyment.

I can understand your stance on TAG. I sold my gen and with a portion, purchased the 42mm DD, which I agree- they knocked it out of the park with that design. Then they struck out and fell on their face with the Calibre 36.

  2. Consider what you have already that would look good on leather instead of bracelet. A little leather will class any joint up, and adds versatility to something you already have.

If some new blood is needed, how about a Carrera, a Railmaster, or maybe a milgauss or day/date?

Personally, I think my Carrera day/date looks very well dressed in black leather deployant

  3. Your drawings exhibit a lot of talent. If you aren't the best tattoo artist i've ever seen right now, you may be one day. I agree with Ronin's pointers.

I've always wondered what people really thought, and how to provoke the answer from them that they may think but never say. That is why I wanted to do that for you. Maybe one day I will ask you to return the favor.

I've been good at a lot of things in my life, however no matter what it has been, or how much I tried, I don't think i've ever been truly great at anything. Newly married with a child on the way, I am very much about being a great husband and father-to-be. I'm sure you can relate, being a newlywed yourself. B)

Best of luck being great at whatever you do.

  4. The 5th gen 42mm PO is a great watch. Unfortunately the lineage of the PO is much like that of the sub; one of the few models that if it is not (it never will be) dead-on-ballsack-perfect, it will be met with scrutiny and deemed worthless without $2K worth of gen parts grafted onto it. I love franken 42mm PO's, but not as much as I like money and gens, and a pre-owned gen PO is too close in price to a franken to be worth it.

My advice, enjoy your PO's! They are fantastic reps out of the box. As far as the logo, its supposed to be close to the Omega print. Have you looked at the gen? Here...

Here's my 5th gen 42mm. Looks pretty damn good to me. I suspect the only people that will know it is a rep is myself, and whoever I decide to tell.

  5. Don't pay for waterproofing, good chance nothing extra will be done. The rule of thumb is to just get the watch in your hands, any value-added services you need should be done on your end. The only way to tell if a watch is ready for a swim is to take it to a watch smith and have them test it.

  6. and pams...

    That she was.

I just posted on your profile about not seeing you around here, and if it was going to take us talking about your uneven balls to hear from you again. All of a sudden here you are!

  7. Your wife might not be brutally honest to your face about her opinion of the sleeve, but she will see it everyday for the rest of her life. You don't want a less than perfect reminder of you staring her in the face everyday- so I agree with chief. Get it worked over by the best person you can.

You have skills, but I wouldn't let you tattoo me. You haven't been at this very long, what do you really expect?

I'm sorry T, I am only doing for you what you asked, and I would want the truth, too.

  8. +1 for that bracelet treatment. The rep TAG bracelet is excellent, especially after a little extra attention.

The inside edges of the last link can be rough and unfinished looking, they look nicer sanded/polished. The edge of the bracelet is sharp, and could use a once over with fine grit sand paper.

By the way, thats not a 25j ETA movement, thats an Asian 7750 (which is what it should be), so description is wrong but actual movement is right.

  9. Awesome, especially if you're deeming it a budget build. :o

I get the bezel fixation, I have a gen, its an electric blue SMP and the chrome bezel bothers me. I want to swap a regular blue SMP bezel onto it. I've never seen that before, and I think it would look bad [censored].
