You crazy scientist you. Great results! Hats off to you sir!

It ran fine when it was together but as soon as I took it apart it was like a booby trap. One of the jewels was split in half.
Those 3135 copies are a PITA. Poor finish and terrible fitting parts. It's a real adventure taking them apart and an even bigger challenge getting them to perform well. Like I mentioned in my review a while back there really is no reason to buy one other than the crown position and gen-like time setting direction. One is better of with a 28xx clone.
-
Really curious how the crowns on these 42s are (holding up). I have read a lot of different stories about them....

Thanks. Nice pics and excellent comparison!
-
What do you feel when you turn the crown in the first position? Resistance, noting, clicking?
-
Its like rubbing sand into a cut insted of using a bandade.

Your watch maker is right. That is the problem with rep parts. So many variations. If I was doing the swap I would probably tell you I could reshape and cut the gasket but the watch would not be waterproof anymore.

Welcome. Great 1st post.....
You are better of searching direct contact with a factory.... Maybe a dealer can do the mediating for an one time fee?

Also there is supposed to be a CUPO release coming from noob factory soon. I didn't think they would go ahead with it but we'll wait and see.
Hmmmmm interesting
-
I got a noob rep and then put and elabore grade CGD swiss unitas and made a franken +++++ out of it
That movement is way too nice to make it a Franken
-
the real question is, when can we get a 100% 1:1 Super Rep N00B Quality AAA+++ V3 rep of this model
There already is a Noob 318 and it is better than the gen

E. only start a thread if proven guilty.

Personally I cant really see the point of this thread? .... there is ALWAYS a possible scammer around. On every board!
-
I agree with all of the above. Magnetised and/ or an impact on the balance could have misshaped the dog leg or caused a stud to move. If the watch ran ok on the QC pics it should not be a big issue. Shoot MD2020 a PM. I think he lives in your part of the woods. But I think he currently is taking a pause due to a small accident he had.
.....Or find a local repair guy. Much cheaper and safer than sending it back to China.
Any how good luck!

Hard to say with a rep. Threading could be off. It will be a roll of the dice....
You are better of buying a tube-crown combo if you ask me.
-
Sounds like that watch is ready to become spare parts instead of fixed.
The movement is dead so you need to replace it +- $300 for an ETA if you can find one. Ad labor costs. After market AR is almost impossible to source now a days. Fixing a super glued bezel is a hell of a job and getting that to turn properly again is almost a mission impossible. You first need to get the bezel of. Clean all the super glue and tighten all the bezel retaining screws underneath. My guesstimation is that you would come close to $500....the watch simply isn't worth it in my opinion.

Is it April fools already?
-
On iPhone right now so can't see your location. Try MD2020 if you are in the States or shoot me a PM if you're in Europe.

WOW.. You are a true master to figure that out. It is an old watchmakers trick I learned from Z!ggy! Well done. It safes the hassle of removing all the dial side stuff.I have found another way to reset the keyless works in a 7750 without dial/hand removal. This just occured to me as I was re-reading this thread to refresh my memory since I messed up another one last night...
Make sure movement is in winding mode. Insert stem and place movement into winding mode, then remove the stem... movement will not run, and other functions will not work, this is OK
Place movement back into the case (as a holder). Now remove the balance bridge and wheel: remove one screw and carefully remove bridge with tweezers, lifting out the wheel on the spring.
Now use a small pin to gently press the stop lever (#6 in pic balow) all the way back in. Then stick a pin into the stem hole and wiggle it out gently to be sure the castle wheel & gears are free.
Very carefully re-install the balance wheel/bridge and the watch will now run.
Now re-install the crown/stem as per usual, and if all goes well, you've fixed it... without touching the dial side
@Red: how the hell did you manage to mess op the keyless on a 7750. That is a rare issue on a 7750 movement.

Thanks for sharing your method but this sort of stuff always make me wonder how you feel afterwards? You get a matte bezel but a scratch in return. For me personally that would ruin the entire watch...
I often see members trying to correct a mistake and fock something up in the proces. Why can't we just accept certain flaws? We are dealing with a reps after all. The mind of a RWG geek works in mysterious ways
-
I like the rep better
Wear it well and thanks for sharing.

Most likely the stem release screw. Do a search on 'stem release 6497'. Could be that he screw only needs to be tightened.

I have no idea what a loading wheel is but if you can't wind the watch anymore it is likely to be a keyless, winding or click wheel issue.

Besides the taller canon pinion It''s bases on availability. As he 2824 and 2836 are almost the exact same apart from the aded day function on the 2836 they use what ever they can get their hands on. When it comes to quality both movements are the same.
