  1. Thanks for the info. The result is very nice indeed! Good to know the gen insert fits the rep bezel without any mods.

Judging from all the scratches on the rep insert can we conclude the rep insert is in fact NOT real ceramic? There are a lot of myths about this so hopefully you can put this issue to bed ;)

  2. Also it's not the croc side that is the problem. It's the inside which uses a thin leather calf slice sticked on to the croc. This soaks up all the odors, chemicals and dirt... not a pretty sight after a while. Leather straps and water/ sweat don't mix (except for the special waterproof straps but you'll have to look in to that).

  3. That isn't a regular 21J. I don't know what movement is inside, that's why I'm asking. Chrono, big date, secs at 9, and 24h at 6??? I don't know what this could be, I'm just thinking of it. It didn't even come to my mind to buy it, I ain't no noob :p

The 21j Chinese movement comes in all sort of variations. One thing I can say for sure is that if it's an automatic it won't have a working chrono function, nor will it have running seconds at 9 or any other sub dial for that matter. The big date will probably function but both date wheels will probably go to '9' so that will cause some problems ;)

  4. Narikaa is by far one of THE best dealers on the board. 9 out of 10 these ridiculous posts come from noobs with zero knowledge of the rep game. They think they will receive a perfect rep which is up to par with the gen for a freaking 65 pounds... come one! I just laugh my ass of when I read:

'There is a dust partical beneath the crystal......

'The rotor makes too much noise ...

There is a hair line scratch on the lug.....

'The date is .0001% off center...

'I pushed the chrono buttons like a freaking Game Boy and now the chrono doesn't work...

so I want to send it back/ have it fixed!

    :bangin:

PS: My PO is on it's way and as there is enough said about it in this post I will post some technical (movement, crown seals, HE conctruction etc.) shots when I get it.

  5. The key for the moonwatch to be successful is to remove the autowinding module and have it handwind, like the gen. This would make the movement thinner, as well as eliminating the "7750 whir." Obviously the subdial spacing has been fixed.

Oh yeah, if there's no acrylic domed crystal they shouldn't even bother making it. I owned the gen, but needed some funds so it had to go. Hell, even if there is a good rep I might hold out for the legend.

In regards to the original Moonwatch Ruby's is and will be the best version available. They will rep the NEW 44mm Co-Axial Speedmaster with automatic movement and sapphire.

  6. I think the different grades are a myth. You have crappy ones and good ones. Among the good ones there are differences in manufacturer so there are some variations. My cufflinks belong to the better quality ones. I for instance can't see any differences with the real deal myself so I would opt you go for the same as mine.

  7. :notworthy: MASTER!

Thanks for doing the write-up. I've been looking forward to it for a long time. Now they need to use this movement in a rep I actually like ;)

    * It is a movement that it is very hard to assemble, problematic, it tends to stop if everything is not perfectly assembled. I think that the origin of the problem is the very short pins of the two floors gears. However, if it works well at the beginning it should be reliable.

I guess the first plate was hardest to assemble right?
