Thanks a lot for that guys, I thought I had this insert don't thing down pat but I've been proven wrong again. So much information. This insert is going to go on my new caseless 5513. thanks again guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks, I just find them more esthetically pleasing. I've been looking for a tube but it may be more difficult to find a Gen one. I'm in no rush, I'll keep looking. Thanks for the tip Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A complete case set from Phong including gen crown, tube and crystal and correct engravings is 1250, not too bad when you consider it's probably the best you can get apart from Gen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Think I'm either going to go Phong or better yet Gen. Got some feelers out on a Gen but difficult to find (and expensive) I'm thinking maybe Gen all the way would be better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks a lot for the information, as I said I think I'm going to bit the bullet and go Gen all the way (maybe Phong, your opinion?) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It is difficult but not impossible, you can always colour match them, I have a watchmaker that will do it and he does a really good job. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks for the great comments, I'm putting 703 that I just picked up from a great member here. I'd really like a gen case or Phong but may settle for Yuki. So, who can I send it to when I get everything ready for mods or assembly? Any help? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just picked up a nice gen 1970s 5513 no serif dial and I have a 1560 movement (installed in a 1002) just wondering how much I would have to put into this to put together a nice vintage 5513? So I guess I would need a hand set and case, crown etc. then I should be good to go, no? Have a look at this beautiful dial, I smell A project in the making. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
