For Info
The welded crowntube/case looks only gray on the pics
in real it has the same color as the case
different lightning exposure
and the springbars make the strapchanging so easy cool detail

Is it about this watch?: http://img03.picoodle.com/img/img03/3/10/1...rkm_b674bfd.jpg
I cannot really see it clearly, but there are fingerprints all over. Is that on the crystal case back or is that inside on the movement? A good watch smith would not have left (fatty & acid) fingerprints on the movement, so if it is on the movement, I wonder if it really has been serviced....
Good luck!
J.
This are the first fingerprints which are in the same line as cotes de Geneve...
The movement plates are not in the best condition but a lot of years old
the movement works for month since our first fabulous GTG in Erfurt
ok the Picture shows not every detail of the plate
but if you look close they (fingerprints) are all in paralel lines
@ Vla:
i see the grey hairs growing on Stephans head, but this happen often to these 8 Days movments
same problem on a watch that lays upside down for running (not angelus but 8 days)
and thanks The Zigmeister for info
cheers helmut

Yes like RMC say, only a single bar in steel.
You can add a tube, because you can see it on some of gen with this bar
Her another pic of gen:
This short bar (on both sides of the lugs) are used for easier strapchanging, cause the disassambling of the ones that Ross described quickly failed.
So they shorten the long ones, cut off on both sides and so theres enough length for fixing the strap (thicker straps do not work)

If you read the post, it's clear that there are different types of 3646 all with different measurements. If I had a genuine 3646 sitting in front of me, I'd give you the measurements (which would probably be unique to that particular model) - but I doubt anyone does, so please don't suggest that we are in some way hiding information or being secretive.
Perfect Answer Ross

As i have some background information from VDB Stephan
i wanna go inline with the statement of T
If you wanna have a perfect as new working movement in age of 70 years you have to look for every detail piece
to get this assambled you need more than two or three movements. (and of course many time and a goodwatchman)
one or two steps below and with luck you get one movement which needs only cleaning, but this one has 70 years of mechanical use behind too.
I always say to Stephan that he sell his watches too cheap. No one can imagine how much time and getting grey hairs is in his watches.
Sometimes the watch is pefecty assembled and then it stops again without knowing what happend...
His favor is to build watches, so sometimes the way is the target and this is one reason that his watches cost not 5000 or 10000 dollar.
But under the line they have to
(This is not a post to raise the prices, but for those who want to have a cheapo cheapo perfect Vintage Watch)
Cheers Helmut

although I like the look now I thought of this already. It's an easy fix because the color is on the lume and not on the resin. the next time i change something at the watch I might go over the dial again , maybe...
i am wearing the third dial version on my 3646 so make if you like too
there are some gen with tone in tone color too
wear it well
Helmut
