Dear Friends of Vintage,
Long short story of my MM 3646:
Done by VDB
After finishing the first MM there starts some problems: the molnija movements didn t want to do its work correctly, too short cannion pin, different material used in Russia on same movement

Well
here some explanations
stephan and i organized some little Specials to have a great GTG
we have been a little busy for gtg
- Stephan build a present for each at the gtg
- There are some parts on the way sponsored by DSN
- the billets for the tour by LittleSreetTrain are bought
- Hotelrooms are reservated
- We could smoke some cigars arrived from J-C
- The Kaminzimmer (intimate) is reserved
....
So the GTG will be only a meeting of friends

Hi Folks
Stephan and i put our heads together to plan a little...
So this is the Result .... so far
Saturday 4th: Arriiving day... in the afternoon first meeting (pm Stephan or me for point out and telephone number)
best place for meeting will be railway station in the center (hotel rooms are booked with my real name at Intercity hotel, near by the station)
we will go for a little sightseeing after the big HELLO ( hope the weather will be fine...) and start on the Petersberg a Prussian Fortress with a great view all over our little sweet town and of course our great Cathedral
near by we get into the little Streettrain as Stephan posted in a pic above... a little History but i think not so much....
After that teatime with coffee and cake in a cafe ( seen there three people wearing Pams gen? i don t know...
A little time between Teatime and diner
we will go to a nice italian restaurant, i orderd The Kaminzimmer...
There will be the right time to talk and present the watches
Apropos Present:
Stephan made some special pieces for everybody who joined the GTG!!!
After that we will go to bed... lol ...I don t thinks so!!!
Nightlife Erfurt!!! There are a lot of Pubs and Clubs and Discos in Town
So Join the GTG
Next morning we can go for breakfast in a nice cafe with a good buffet and to see AFTER GTG FACES
I THINK WE WILL HAVE FUN!!!
Chime in

first of all I had to shorten the staff of the second@9 on the molnija-movement. then I had to grind the pocketwatch-dial of the molnija to a smaller size to take the upper layer of the base MM-dial. then I applied some lume and polished the top layer. the hands came from the asian 6497 so the hole were too big to fit on the other movement. so I worked a little bit on the holes ( ) and then I sanded the upper side of the hands. the next step was the "cigar-method" on the hands and on the dial with a great result.
the next steps will be to polish and get some marks on the case, work on the CG, modify the stem...
... and to repair what breaks while doing this
very interesting
it would be nice to see a closer pic of your hands mod and of course the assembled watch
cheers
helmut

Homage de Homage PAM 3646, Long Story
in The Panerai Area

Dear Vintage Lovers,
Yesterday VDB brings my baby back to me. I AM SOOO HAPPY!!!
First here are some Gen Pics of the Inspiration:
First Version:
47mm 3646 Repcase Strongly shaped 1:1
Molnija Movement `54
aged Hands
Marina Militare Dial with red Numerals according to aged Radiomir
Big Caseback 1:1 Gen
Reason for doing a second Version:
The Molnija cracked, a second one didn t work properly, to make one of two failed... so Cortebert 616 has to come in this case and not in the following 6152 Project.
While working to put the Cortebert in a slim line of glue touched the open dial and ruined it. ARRRRGH!!!!!
But this Experiance is a way of learning...
Stephan tried to repair it and so the second rough look comes to my MM
i call it Second Version:
Differences:
Cortebert 616 with Rolex Bridges and handworked spacingring
Rough Marina Militare Dial with math finnish
But for my Taste it was a little too rough,
still a gen can look the same, awesome but not for me
So i roll my eyes and ask Stephan to try another Version
AND HERE IT IS THE ULTIMATE VERSION
And some Wristis
Version 1:
Version 2:
Version 3 ULTIMATE:
THATS IT!!!
Thanks for looking
cheers Helmut
