  1. Heh. Noted. PAMs it is. And thanks for the info! I'm sure that made some laugh. -- More strap ideas for 24mms, for those not going the watchboys or Bob route: Genuine Croc, USD 49.99: http://cgi.ebay.com/24mm-Black-Genuine-Cro...1QQcmdZViewItem Gator Leather, USD 19.94: http://cgi.ebay.com/24mm-Gator-Leather-XL-...1QQcmdZViewItem For my newbie, modestly-priced Panerai, I went for the latter choice. Don't like not having a Panerai buckle, though...
  2. Here's a newbie question: I just purchased from Paul a Pannie whose dimensions are listed as 44mm/12mm. But when I searched eBay, all they had were straps listed for 24mm (but they looked ample enough to be for 44mm). Is this 2x12mm=24mm? Here's an example: http://cgi.ebay.com/PANERAI-BROWN-LEATHER-...1QQcmdZViewItem "FITS ALL 44MM PANERAI WATCH MODELS 24MM WIDTH AT LUGS AREA" Presumably, then, if it says 24mm, it's okay to buy for my 44mm Panerai.
  3. Fantastic. I don't necessarily like the wire lugs for the Panerai, but I saw that what you said about the Radiomir, is correct. I went to their site just now. Not sure what that crown contraption is called (I am a newbie) , but I prefer it on the PAMs. I think I'll buy it, and keep an eye on a "gen"-rep PAM from Andrew next! Have a great night, MK08.
  4. I've been refreshing like mad, because I'm just about to go out for the evening, and Paul is awaiting my order. As far as the size, I'll take my chances, but what I'd REALLY like to know is if this Radiomir looks glaringly obviously a fake? Thanks for the advice, MK08, either way!
  5. Paul: http://www.pam111.com/product_info.php?cPa...roducts_id=1093 Radiomir. Same price, nice not overbearing-ly masculine-looking band, manual. Opinions??
  6. No, alas, I don't. They are average-to-small. I am of medium build overall, a bit top-heavy like the girlfriend of that chap pictured. So, I should keep looking right? I was afraid the 44mm would look like a clown watch, and the 40mm is just too un-Panerai. The 47mm I thought would be something that would be beyond-clownish-looking, and distinctive, but perhaps not.
  7. Perhaps I should mention that I too am a woman, thus the girlfriend photos certainly put my mind at rest that a girl can wear a PAM and still not look butch.
  8. So, after seeing one of the member's girlfriend's new Purdey PAM, I finally succumbed to the lure of the Paneristi mating calls. The problem is, which one? They are so MACHO, and though I loved the Purdey, the reps do not look anything like the original in the Purdey site. And do I really want to keep the Lion cover on my beautiful Paneristi. And yet, the Panerai is distinctive, and it's one of those watches that the more UNUSUAL you go, the better they look. Here is my choice. Realise, I don't have too much $$ and I'm a newbie. This is as far as I can go, for the moment. - Paul: http://www.pam111.com/product_info.php?cPa...products_id=971 As a comparison, here is Andrew's. I don't see the difference in quality on sight. But maybe you experts can! - http://www.ttwristwatch.com/index.php?main...products_id=118
  9. I had seen that since I first went to his site, this last Saturday. Followup: Someone wondered why Paul chose a website name which might give him probs with the Panerai crowd. Hmm...
  10. Paul said it was okay to share the news with you, as he rarely frequents these forums. He said it was no biggie, but just time to change the address. http://www.pam111.com/ --or, right to the watches-- http://www.pam111.com/index.php?cPath=21
  11. Paul got back to me, and said he had a new website (and that my watch was shipped today). Not sure if he wants to post his site here, himself, but I'm off to sleep. I'll post it if he doesn't.
  12. Thanks again for all your responses. Something odd is happening to my account. Sometimes I log in, and my age shows up, and my older posts go missing (like this one). And earlier today, I had 10 rep points, now I have none. Not sure what is happening, but it might just be teething pains as this weekend, I had to ask for my password to be reset like 10 times before it "took".
  13. This is very troubling to me, as I only just noticed that (I have an order pending with him). In the left-handed sidebar, one sees this: FRAUD LIST AD. When someone clicks on any watch link, you are redirected to a page with a hotmail address. Very worrisome. I'll fire off an email now.
  14. Thanks, deltatahoe. It's funny how even the briefest, most common-sensical of replies can put one's mind at rest. I would never have posted this, if it (1) hadn't been the first time ever, and (2) I had gone through Paul's regular payment area. We found another method, using a third party, so...you can imagine how I felt when there was no confirmation. He's reputable, I know. And that counts a lot here. Thanks, again!
  15. Hey guys, brand-spanking newbie here. -- Since the member/VIP area is down, and I can't upgrade, I'm posting this in General Discussion, as the Trade Review section is unavailable to me as yet. -- Just ordered a watch from Paul at Wo-Mart. I read member reviews carefully this weekend, before pulling the trigger. Yes, I'm aware he is respected and that's why I am ordered from him, but two members considered comms RECENTLY with him a little mixed. Here's the deal: Lightning quick emails to-and-fro with him before I bought my watch. Then, after payment, nothing. No confirmation of my info details (address, etc.), or receipt of payment, just moments after my last reply from him. Since then, 2 emails have gone unanswered. I hear you saying, "Patience grasshopper" again, but since this is my very first rep purchase, one gets antsy. What do you think? Should I worry about lack of comms, or just hang tight and the watch will come in due course? Thanks for any insight!
  16. My very first post, and it's non-watch related -- but it's a good reason. Happy Father's Day!
