The Singapore Grand Prix F1 is getting real hot now and I happened to come across this time piece in the ads. Pretty much like this piece though it's quartz. Guess won't be seeing a rep of this watch. But the funny thing is that I came across a Swatch quartz watch that has a similar dial layout, wonder if the rep factories could just use this movement for this model.

Haha coolfire so fast another company watch! Actually Hublot also like AP, found a successful model, they just come out with more and more versions of it in different dial colors and matching straps. And taka since red has never been your color, it's time to try something new who knows you might like it! We shall see what the rep factories can come up with but I'm not too hopeful...

And Euno just to confirm, so there aren't any screws holding the movement to the watch case and I just need to release the stern to remove the movement? As for the strap, didn't know it was sticky and has unpleasant smell as some fellow members who have the watch were pretty happy with it.

Just saw that watchstation has released a number of different versions of the big pilot family.

For the 5002, the power reserve is like too far off and markers a bit inaccurate etc.

On the other hand the 5004 looks still ok minus the fact that the power reserve is slightly off, the power reserve hand for the black dial should also come with black outline just like the minute and hour hands instead of silver outline and there should not be any silver lining for the date area too. Overall what do you think for the 5004?

As for the rest of the dials I'm not sure.

Haha I'm also not into red but this watch makes me think twice. Do you all prefer this to come with sec at 12 or otherwise?

Yes Logan think it will be real tough to see one with carbon case. Anyway the factories these days rather spend their effort & energy into doing some unpopular reps.

And coolfire, let me guess price might be $1088? $888? $788? $588? Best of course is $388 or $288!

Wow another one likes it! Welcome onboard coolfire! So far dealer side said no news of this model at this moment but no one will know if it will be rep in the time to come. We shall see

Yap that's what attracted me to this watch too that dial & strap combo! Haha think for the reps if the day ever comes, it may be tough for them to get the strap right... then again hard to say nothing is really impossible these days.

Hooray one more supporter! I still can't get it off my mind...love that feel of this watch on my wrist this afternoon! Cartier got me for this one! Surprising not a limited edition but was told most boutiques either have 1 or 2 pieces only.

I'm currently away overseas, today happened to pass by a Cartier boutique so went in to have a look. Tried on a Santos, fell in love with it! It looks great and that grey dial with that matching strap really makes it quite a sporty & classy watch. Thought of sharing it with you all, wonder who else also likes this watch? Haha so far no rep of this model else if its good I would be first in line!

Looks like it has screw down crown with o-ring. Yap I do agree why can't they place the power reserve indicator at 7 so at least when people ask can tell them just wind it so full power now. Imagine at 6, someone ask may I try to wind the watch and no matter how they wind, the indicator won't show a 7???

Wow its up for sale already!!! Now my concern is the movement. Is it a new movement specially made for this watch & could there be any potential issues. So tempting...

Guess what, saw from PC site pics of the big pilot! Looks like we are getting real close! Any comments so far from the pics? Seems that the brand name is a bit too high up. However, there are quite a few models from this series so not sure if its correct.

Yap coolfire quite a pity I can't make it. We shall catch up again on another session. Remember to take lots of pics so that I can admire them!

Btw just remember, the bar isn't open during lunch time, think it's open around 3pm. So maybe after lunch you all can go over. Cafe wise they have more food choices and maybe even buffet if you all want. Chinese restaurant is a bit on heavy side but they have dim sum etc.

You should try wearing them! Some love it some hate it. I'm for sure won't mind having one.

Hi taka, it may be good to do some booking as I just realised you all may want to make it for sunday lunch. And last time on sunday, usually the cafe and the chinese restaurant will expect a a bit more people as sunday people tend to bring their families there for meals and leisure activities.

Hi pals so sorry for the late reply as I'm not in town and will only be back on 26 Aug. Communications now is a bit not so easy, need to get internet and phone line etc all require some troubleshooting. Ok back to the topic, though most probably I can't make it for the GTG, let me see how I can be of help in other areas.

For Legends, unfortunately I'm not a member there. If you all are looking for meeting rooms, conference rooms etc then they are meant for members. If you all want to book smaller function rooms then non-members also can book as they are open for public events. Else can consider Legends Garden the chinese restaurant there, they have private rooms for a table or two that kind. Or can check if Billiard Bar at level 2 is open, they have karaoke rooms. Alternatively can request for a corner at The Cafe at level 1. Next, not sure if anyone has any food requirements like halal food etc. Well, I haven't been to the club for some time, so not too sure if all the above still stands.

And there's another pretty nice place. The Crowne Plaza hotel at changi airport terminal 3. Their cafe is cosy too. And they have a bar just opposite the cafe which I find its pretty cosy and quiet as just opened lately and not much of a crowd.

Yap let's get things organized as nearing the GTG date! And its really a rare chance to have a GTG. Cheers!

I'll be away & won't be in town until 26 Aug. So looks like have to join the next GTG what a pity gotto miss this one! Unless last minute there are some changes in plan though quite unlikely. And taka here's the address to the club: The Legends Fort Canning Park, 11 Canning Walk, Singapore 178881.
