  1. Oh no guess what, yesterday I dropped by my local second hand watch boutique and I saw that they have an IWC Mark XV! I took a closer examination, the condition is really good and it comes with the boxes dated papers etc. I would rate it at 99% condition except can see some minor signs of wear on the leather strap but that's about it. Price wise around US$2400. Do you all think is worth it?

Come on I need that Mark XVI but now keep thinking of that XV too..... if only XVI is available now or at least told that its coming soon this year then I guess I will wait....

  2. Oh no....I don't want to see that Reg..... Keep it away! Keep it away! .... its too tempting..... ;)

Just curious the crown and pusher are on the inner side and they are pretty big, will it hurt or bite into the skin lets say when one is bending the wrist a little and doing some typing work on the computer?

  3. Hi everybody thanks for sharing, I appreciate the input. In fact, my local CITES authority just got back to me. I was told I don't need any CITES certificate to get the croc strap into my country. But instead I was told that for croc straps to be shipped out from the United States, it does require CITES approval as it falls under the endangered Protection Act within the United States.

Then again, there are quite a few strap dealers operating in the States too, so they just shipped the straps out without any issues as I don't think they will go through the hassle with the CITES application?

  4. Hi dear all, I would like to know if there are issues of shipping exotic straps out from the United States to lets say Asian countries? The reason is that croc & alligator seems to fall under the endangered protection Act, so not sure if there any issues of getting through the United States customs? Please advice, thanks in advance. ;)

  5. I seldom like all black watches but this will be an exception...bring it on Pug! Can't wait to see your review and nice pictures! And I realised I'm acting a bit weird these days, I used to prefer reps that look and feel close to gens but now on and off I'm willing to accept fantasy models as at times I find that they really look nice too and have a certain character. But of course these fantasy models must be well made. Does anyone has the same sentiments like me?

    Thanks in advance Pug! ;)

  6. Nice combinations! Really admire you that you have the luxury to swap around to see the effect of those combinations! Pretty like the RG version too, as the dial is not so busy and comes cleaner. And haha if you are at Hublot designing watches don't forget about us ok, you could be the missing bridge that we need so that the rep makers can get their HBB correct and closer to the gens.

  7. Hi pal, thanks for sharing. I haven't get this watch as price wise its on the high side no doubt if compared to a brand new piece the price is very attractive and considering the fact that this watch is in very good condition. Too bad I'm a bit tight on budget that's why have to think twice and think thrice before deciding on it....

  8. Guess what, today during lunch time I popped into a small watch boutique and I managed to find the same exact Seiko model as mentioned by swdivad! I tried it on and I must say its a pretty solid and sporty watch! They also have it in stainless steel strap but I think I like the black strap more. The links are hollow so they do feel lighter. And watch wise, movement is from Japan but assembled in Hong Kong. They also have the same model in smaller dial size with open case back design but I still prefer this chunky fellow. Price wise its around US$380 though I never ask if there are any discounts. So swdivad I think you got a good deal and looks like its a good workhorse too! ;)

Oops I'm falling into the dark side, think I might just go try the watch again tomorrow....one piece left....

  9. Hi dear all, I just came across this gen watch at one of my local second hand watch dealer. This is the Glashutte Senator Navigator watch and price wise it is slightly less than half the retail price compared to a brand new piece. It comes with original boxes and papers dated Aug 2006. It looks like those classic pilot watches, what do you all think of this watch? Worth it? Or any comments? Thanks.

  10. Yap yap you are right pal! In fact I did get to see the rep one (the one in the second pic) from my local dealer last year. But its in rose gold casing with black ceramic bezel and hob nail dial! Wonder why they are so creative or they just mix and match! By the way are you going ahead to get the Gold Mat HBB? From the dealer pictures it doesn't look so attractive but from your pictures you found and posted it seems that it look pretty fine to me.

  11. Seems like at the moment there are two ways to find out...

    1) If anyone knows or get to see Sly in person maybe can try to approach him and ask him about the watch he is wearing in the movie.... or

    2) Call or drop a note to Panerai/Richmont and ask them about the watch worn by John Rambo in the movie...

    * Ok I took the initiative and already dropped them a note will await their news and keep you all posted if they do get back to me...
