1. I’m not convinced ..I faded it too much, on the oven flame don’t turn brown but grey and deep grey don’t match with the brown dial :-( so for now I take ghost ..
2. I found this 1680 cartier pic , but I can’t found the article that explain if it was legit or not. Edit : found here http://www.lacotedesmontres.com/Enchere-No_43499.htm VENTE AUX ENCHÈRES ANTIQUORUM N°151 - 07 DÉCEMBRE 2006 - LOT N°354
3. Tks for the kind words.. I have a little problem with data disc my watchsmith say they is simple to settle
4. Below another my project 1680 with phong insert..
5. @Automatico if I understand (my English sometime is not so good) You want suggest me the part or entire movement for have no data quick set like the 1570/75.. I have bought the eta 2879 because I have read that have the same hight of the 2813 (that was inside the jkf ) Than I have asked to my watchsmith to remove the quick data set, he found a solution: by file the tooth on a part of the movement (I don’t remember the name of this part that have two tooth) The first tooth is the position for the quick data set the second tooth is the position for set the hands.. So now when I pull out crown, The stem go directly to the second tooth for set the hands..
6. In Italy we have an adage that says : “blu e marrone perfetto cafone” That we can translate “blue & brown perfect oafish” Haha That mean that the blue and brown don’t match each other .. But despite this adage I saw many example of this match color in fashion outfit..
7. Yes you are right , but the black insert is worst .. I try to make insert brown I have try several (cousinsuk, woresaleoutlet , Cartel) on the oven but they turn reddish not chocolate ..the next week when will arrive the Slay insert kiss four I try again over the oven..but I have not hope in the result
8. Tks, Dial detail on the sunset..
9. Hello guy I show you my last build spec: -JKF complete watch. by myself I mod the CG, is the first attempt so it’s not perfect, maybe are too thin..I create little bevel on the lug the jkf was too sharp) -eta 2879 low beat (remove the data quick set, so now is like the 1570) -Viet dial (the dial fit perfectly without any mod to the rehaut) -grey data disc -clark plexi -retain washer cousinsuk -wso 580 endlink -raffle hand deep yellow -phong blue tudor insert faded(I’m going to change it with a chocolate insert if i will be able to faded the black Slay insert over a oven) -2mm spring bar (the hole of the jkf was already for 2mm) -athaya crown and tube
10. Do you mean with the number on the upper or bottom? Because all the insert (cartel, yuki, cousin) that I try to make brown on gas flame (number upper) became reddish ..
11. So it is a fantasy reference number ?
12. Hi I have a doubt about the 70216 bracelet that I saw on sale on eBay (from Riyi002), it have the solid links (see pic) . The gen 70216 was with hollow links or solid ? I can’t found any pic of gen 70216 And was this bracelet only for tudor or also for rlx ? Tks
13. e30m3 here we have a lot of information from Automatico! Automatico very kind how always! Not simple translate all the technical detail but is clear that is not simple this work also with a lathe (little or big) So Is not impossibile make the work with a dremel .. very useful the tip about the screw in the center throughout a hole on a spare caseback for enlarge the dial window! for enlarge the diameter we can use sandpaper while the case spin , maybe we can use the same sandpaper with a tool like a pliers for the dial seat ? But which sandpaper you suggest 600 and than 1200?
14. Rolexaddict is a modder, I think was more active in the past on rwg.bz is always busy..or maybe prefer keep same job secret , I don’t know.. At the moment the jkf 1665 is the more easy work because the case accepts gen spec 26.5mm dial..
15. I think the same misure for both ! RolexAddict make this work on my cartel watch so I don’t know exactly which tools he use .. But your lathe is professional (big tool) or those little lathe for model building ?
16. Seem correct to me, but you have also to enlarge the dial window (the rehaut ) otherwise the minute track indices will be partially cover .. What do you use a professional lathe ? I have read that someone have made this wise by hand with sandpaper.
