  1. With the help from the guys here and on other forums I turned my BPSD into a franken 16660. Gen Dial Gen Insert Gen Crown TC Hands ETA 2836 JMB drilled lug holes Gen 93160 bracelet and clasp I don't remember how much it all totaled up but it was less than $1000USD excluding the watch itself.
  2. Send it back and we'll work it over... Thanks Justin but it looks so nice put together hahah Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. now I'm regretting not asking if you could do a SN engraving on my BPSD when you had it for lug hole drilling, Justin
  4. If the gen 3135 is as thick as the replacement 3135 you can buy from wso I can tell you that it is pretty thick. Can it work? Yea it did for my 16014 build but the date kept getting jammed/stuck when it should have changed. Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
  5. lol sorry for the lack of update and that's by design because, well, it's on hold until probably January. I actually had the parts for sale as a whole on RWI but will revisit this later on. In the mean time, I lost the TC seconds hand and need to find another 2836-2 to work with.
  6. Well just to update this thread I've acquired all of the parts I wanted for this build without selling a kidney in the process. BPSD 16600case Gen 16660 dial Gen 16600 insert Gen 704 crown TC Hands and DWO And the 2836 is coming in next week I'll have to get with Justin and have him drill the lug holes and tap a new hole for a tube that'll fit the crown. I'm getting pretty excited
  7. I have never sold anything over a $1,000 USD on ebay before but I'm assuming there's still that 10% ebay fee tacked on to each sale so that ROI goes all the way to zero and then some.
  8. This absolutely DOES NOT answer your question but I ran across this today: http://www.chrono-shop.net/en/bands-bracelets/5622-rolex-spring-bars-20mm-23-40200-watches114270-explorer-116200-datejust-daytona-16520-116520-116529-16622-yachtmaster.html But as far as gen spec I ordered mine via WSO on ebay

  10. Funny thing is that I have an entire 1016 case set from JMB for sale (bezel, midcase, sterile backcase, rep crown, ETA movement holder) with prototype engraving. Contact me OP if you're interested. As the others have already stated, this case is BUTTER.
  11. Love the 5513!!! Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks blue! Being a noob I questioned the authenticity of it because the font numerals look a bit skinnier than the gen dials I've research. Maybe just my eyes. Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk Here's the close up of the back Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
  13. Thoughts on if this is a gen dial and, if so, is it worth to use for a franken build? Thanks guys! Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
  14. i will gladly take/buy your dial and hands if you don't want them anymore
  15. Thanks Robert for the info and advice! I thought about it again after I posted how "wasteful" it would be to use an ETA movement with a gen dial. I'll look into the yuki 3135. As for the case if the only viable answer is using phong's case then I guess I'll have to save up for one of his cases too! I read about other cases that were used in the past but I think those were made in a limited run. Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
  16. Hey guys I have a question that has been bugging me all day. I've googled and search this forum and others and still don't have a clear cut answer. My question surrounds building a triple 6. 1. What case could fit a gen glossy dial? If there isn't an off the shelf case that could work well I'm assuming I will need to ship the case off to one of our awesome members for customizing 2. If I was going the ETA route could I conceivably use a 2836 or 2824? 3. Aside from the dial, what other gen parts are obtainable? I'm thinking 16600 parts would work though getting parts to be era-specific with a glossy dial would be harder (?) Any help is greatly appreciated. I built my datejust recently and caught the bug. 18. I've seen your builds droptopman and they're top notch! I wished I had the funds to get it done right by the members here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. First, I just wanted to give a shoutout to members StoneP and jerkstore for making all of this possible. StoneP for being an awesome guy and seller. Jerkstore for the DIY thread that gave me the confidence to actually get this done. This was my FIRST EVER build and that includes installing the hands, removing the date wheel and applying another dwo, cutting and installing the stem, etc. It was a nerve wracking experience for someone that's not known for patience. That being said, on to the photos! I know a few things that can be improved: -cyclops alignment could be better -dwo from wso has a smaller diameter and there's a slight noticeable gap -dial is a smidge off All in all I'm satisfied with the work and very happy to have my long time dream of owning a Datejust (albeit a franken one) realized. I think I'll eventually fix the little in the future but I'll just enjoy the watch as is for now.
