  1. On this day, 11-15, birthday of yours truly, I am wearing the old faithful Omega SMP crono: by this time next week, however, I shall be wearing a fully modded PAM177H by Vac:
  2. Payment sent for the modded PAM.....waiting for confirmation Thanks Vic....can't wait. hopefully the collection is complete..........for now! Omega Planet Ocean 45mm Omega SMP Crono Rolex Daytona (asian 7750) Movado (gen) and now this bad boy! Thanks Seraphe. I figured Vac does outstanding work, as does The Zigmeister with other watches, and so, might as well stretch my budget and be done with it. Time to look for some really nice leather straps (thick ones) on the cheap!
  3. Thumb....Please check your PM All, i'm sorry for dragging this out some more, but I really need some candid feedback. I was really eyeing thumb's modded 177h, but it is on hold... in the event that he sells it or cannot get me another one, here are my options: DSN's PAM082: ($380) He is out of the 177H modded ones, till next month, so that's out. This 082 has the upgrades of the 177h he is selling, as well as a better lume than standard 082. Angus' 177h: ($258 shipped) His quality seems very good and good feedback from members. The movement is chinesse however, and I don't know much about his lume and AR. Josh/Andrew 177h ($298) Nothing overly exciting...base watch. I would have to send it to Vac for lume + AR mods. Dunno what the quality is, but it does have a Swiss Unitas 6497 Hand Wind with Swan Neck movement. Used but Modded 177h, mods by Vac: (~$500) mods include: 1) Vac super Lume 2) tight Lever 3) Flush pin 4) Thick titanium CG flush to case 5) PALP CROWN (there are no more on the market... impossible to find) 6) Dyed off white dial font to match exact with gen 7) Swiss swan neck regulator movement fully 100% serviced and water proofed Adjust movement beat and rate 9) Jimmy Fu hands 10) Real sapphire single AR coated crystal like gen 11) Cannon pinion upgrade and flat top, polish Hopefully I can buy something today....
  4. I'm waiting on DSN to get back with me on the 082. I've also pm'd a couple of 177's on sale by members, and hope to hear back. as for falling in love with PAM's, I think I'm already there....
  5. how about the 082? that blue dial is sooooooooooo mesmerizing! i just can't find it anywhere!
  6. thanks B....i pm'd him. Lets see what he says. man, I'm still unsure on whether to go for a nice full modded one, or get just a base dealer rep and perhaps add just a better AR, lume, and movement service.
  7. Angus seems to have them in stock.....I know his nicest one is the 111H ultimate, which is gorgeous, but dunno how his 177h compares. He says the AR is the same but the lume is weaker. can any of you experts shed some light? here are some shots: I can't even tell if it has the swan neck, or if the movement is Chinese or Swiss
  8. on that note, does Vac provide all the parts for the mods? does he service the movement timing and accuracy? sorry for the newbie questions, but the PAM world is slightly different than what I'm used to on the Omega side
  9. well, I really don't care too much about the complete exact accuracy of the rep, with the exception of a couple of important features: * decent AR * good Lume * excellent crown Having said that, I emailed DSN and unfortunately he is out of 177h's until next month Gosh, I really can't wait to get this on my hand:
  10. replied back VIc...thanks again. to all, in all honesty, how does this compare to Josh, Andrew's, or Angus' versions? $360 is not bad, but there is a gap between the case and crownguard, and it is a chinese movement.... hmmm. again, all comments welcomed. Wish there was a "Ultimate Planet Ocean 45mm" version of this watch.....maybe there is?!
  11. thanks for that quick reply Victoria.....you always come thru for a fellow floridian!! I have a strap on hold thru phoband, but I'm still looking around, so I'll look for bob or timeconnection. how is the Lume and the pin on Davidsen's?
  12. I'm an Omega guy, but I have the PAM bug really bad!!! I've spend hours and hours reading and researching the different PAMs, and was almost settled on the PAM111E ultimate, but I cannot stop looking at that brushed titanium look of the 177H. Local friend member had the 177, and all I can say is "WOW"....exactly what I want, specially with a nice thick dark strap: I've seen the 177H from Angus, Josh, Andrew, and PT, and frankly, I don't know which one to get it from..... Any help would be appreciated in the following: 1. is the 111 Ultimate that much better than the 177H, or are they comparable? 2. Where to get the 177H? is there an "ultimate" equivalent. thanks in advance. ps- My B-day is tomorrow, so I want to order it in the next few hours!
  13. I know he is not taking new orders till january, but do you guys know if he is doing AR coatings as well?
  14. I assume you can do the Omega SMP crono as well. right?
  15. hiya Victoria....yes, I've been very busy unfortunately! so, what do you think? go with something like this, or stick with a good PAM rep? i'm in limbo
  16. http://www.welder-watch.com/index.php?page...=1&Itemid=1 price seems reasonable for a genuine with the unique look it has.....kinda like a "riced out" PAM i particularly like this one: any opinions are most welcome!
  17. indeed, I want to know that as well......really tempting to do this!!
  18. good points. Still, I personally (again, this is my personal opinion) think that the non-recessed pearl and smaller markers are much less "obvious" than the incorrect logo! When I went to see the Gen, the 1st thing that jumped out of me was the logo... I wish I had both side by side to see how the AR coating in both compares.
  19. it was for $3400, but guy tried to gimme a "deal" for $2890. I had my SMP crono on, and compared it to the real thing.....scary how i really just could not tell them apart.
  20. guys, Yesterday I stopped by Jared's jewelry store and took a look at a Gen PO 45mm..........I also have seen the Silix version and Andrew's version, and honestly, I don't understand why the Silix is not considered "Ultimate" when in actuality it is closer to the real thing!! the differences I saw were: the bezel's luminator is not as nice as Andrew's version (which is closer to the Gen), and the date lettering being Serif. But the Omega logo on the Silix was the correct one, and the AR coating on both of them seem the same. Everthing else (movement, construction, etc) seemed pretty much the same. Unless I'm really missing something, I just don't see a)why Silix is not considered ultimate, and b)why to pay $100 more for the ultimate. any clarifications/comments would certainly be appreciated!
  21. I gotta be honest with you guys, and I hope some of you can chime in with more knowledge. congrats! which dealer did you end up getting it from?
  23. When I got my SMP crono from Andrew, the bezel came off from poor glue. A good friend and member who's helped me here told me the prefered method is to use "Gorilla glue", which we did with success.....until this weekend. I went to the pool with the kids, and all was great. But after about 4 hours on the pool, I started to swim underwater and next thing I know the bezel is missing! so I looked for it and found it, but now I'm stuck trying to figure out what's the best way to glue this sucker in there. any ideas?
  24. awesome stuff Victoria...thank you. any more recommendations?
