i talked to him on the phone...the watch is a grey market PO. He has all the paperwork, etc, except that it is grey market. what are the pros/cons of getting a grey market gen? he wants $1500 shipped CONUS.

the pearl looks ok to me...the emblem is the one I can't really tell. Not sure if it's just the shadow or the camera angle, but the feet some wierd.

I was looking at getting a good deal on a gen PO, and found one on timezone....the guy sent me his pics, but the emblem is not very visible and not sure if it looks right or not: any ideas?

I can't decide between these two! both of them are beautiful. The Omega PO chrono (orange) was my first love-at-first-sight, and I still favor it, but the Oris Carlos Conte Chrono limited edition is a beauty too, and over $1000 cheaper! what say you RWG?

Looking at: * Crown + Tube * bezel + insert I tried looking for 2225.80.00, but apparently it looks for the case number fitting, which I have to crack the case open for. does anyone know the part numbers or help me find them? thanks

my SMP chrono is slowly decaying on me: * the crown no longer screws in. Needs crown + tube. Unfortunately, I've tried for 6 weeks now to get a replacement, and all the dealers are telling me the same thing: the factory doesn't have any parts for the time being. * the insert is scratched up a little, and the pearl is bent! * the luminator marks on the face are pretty much useless now! I can put it for 3 mins on the light, and they barely light up (the arms are fine). I need to find someone in the states that can fix it up for me. Can Chieftang do this work? where can I get the parts from? I tried Ofrei, but wow they are expensive! just the face alone is more than the watch! Any guidance would be most appreciated! I'm just very frustrated right now! Sometimes I feel I should have just bought a gen, and seeing the cost of "fixing" this, i'm tempted just to give it away!

I don't see many (if any at all) UPO's with custom rubber or leather straps, rather than the steel. Any pics ?

guys, I got the watch today!!! idiotic question #1: do you wind it upwards (clockwise looking at the crown side) or downwards (counterclockwise from crown side)?

Klockkind is absolutely correct. There is a thread in the main forum by TWP on the lack of 2824 movements in China and that most UPO's sold since the past 2-3 months have the 2842 movement, and thus he yanked his UPO listings. I cannot believe Andrew would not honor your pics, and because of that, I've stopped dealing with Andrew or Josh.

pretty cool surfer! I still love Omega as my favorite.....but once I saw a PAM on some guy in Borders a few months ago, I was like "WOW, that looks really really REALLY good". I then started reading this subforum for days, and finally got in touch with another member "Phoband", who had the 177, and tried his on my wrist, and I just had to have one.

I've been a watch "enthusiast" for a few years now, and I've been an Avid Omega fan since a kid. As some of you know, I just fell in love with PAMs recently, and just purchased a modded 177H. when I show friends and family what I got, they are all like "Panerai? what brand is that? is it good?" I must admit that even just as recently as 3 years ago, I had not really heard of Panerai............. but pretty much everyone who likes watches knows about Rolex, Omega, Movado, Breitling, Tag Heuer, IWC, Patek, etc,etc, but not many have heard of Panerai. so what's the history here? I want to get educated
