  1. I paid 600 pounds for it, the owner before judging by the previous receipts had sunk quite a alot into it in terms of having a new clasp to the bracelet and having "corrective attention" to the case, case back and bracelet. Its nice to get the full service history of the watch aswell as the awesome box. As much as I like it, Im unsure as to whether to keep it or to sell to fund a genuine Panerai or Rolex Submariner. I didnt know it was no longer available to the cilivian market, maybe I should hold onto it for a little longer so thanks for that.

Well, if you ever decide to part with it, I'll take it off your hands in a heartbeat.

    Excellent purchase and tremendous watch.

  2. Tell you what ...they must have had BIG glass doors where you bought those......'cos they sawyou coming...the Manager prolly jumped and cried...'here's Mental as Anything coming"..."slap a $500 bux label on those POS jeans we've had in stock since the flood".....!

They are the worst looking pair of jeans...paper thin....shitty stitching....andif that's what you pick when you go shopping....I wouldn't send you out for a loaf....!

TTK, you sound like my old man.

    Actually the label was $750:

As for the shitty stitching, it's supposed to be like that and the denim is apparently 'premium Japanese selvedge'. The designer, Martin Ksohoh, used to be head of design at Evisu. He left to start RMC a few years ago. I bet he figured there were enough mugs like me around to sufficiently line his 'premium Japenese selvedge' denim pockets.

  3. Definately about fit and finish, denim quality before brand name. My current favorite pair is a pair of relaxed fit Seven For All Mankind. I've got a few pairs of Diesel, but find they are a bit too heavy. I prefer a thinner lightweight denim. The japanese denim that Paper& Denim use is nice and I have a few pairs. I also have a nice pair of Energie that is lightwieght with a nice finish. I also have a few pairs of Ernest Sewn as well and a couple pairs of vintage reconstructed Levi's. My wife calls them the rock star jeans, but I think they look more like Dwight Yoakam.

If you prefer lightweight denim, check out Carhartt. I bought a pair last year and when I'm off duty, those things are the comfortable jeans I've ever worn.

  4. The owner of my company makes 200k monthly. I am just above the average financial consultant. he wears a gen PAM 088 and gen diamond encrusted bezel BCE. Everyday i walk over to the processing dept. while passing his office and he shouts "STAN GET IN HERE!!". i quietly walk in and sat down...... as my heart beat rises, he asks me if i was happy. i replied "yes, why?". he says "i've noticed you have had on really nice watches". I replied "yes, i collect watches". he says "i know.....[censored] stan...i'm paying you too much. i wanna see you collection some time" :drunk:

You should have said "You're not paying me too much. If you can prise your eyes away from my wrist candy, you'll notice I'm getting skinnier by the day".

  5. Well, gold Rolex, certainly. ;)

Yes, I know about the 18k Day/Date on Presidential bracelet with champagne dial. I believe that started appearing on/off from Season 2 onwards. I know he wore several, but it is the Chrono that really looks the business. There was a really good closeup of the Ebel chrono in one episode but after watching MV straight for nearly 3 weeks, it kinda knocks you sideways and all the stories sort of blur into each other so I'm not even going to try and find a screenshot.

  6. I actually downloaded most of the episodes of Miami Vice off emule, it was good quality and I didn't mind the swedish subs :) I was a toddler when it used to come on tv but my dad said it was really popular in the 80's here in the UK and I should imagine elsewhere, men used to wear loafers with no socks like Crockett

I got season 1 and 2 on DVD, and I am looking to get the rest soon. Very flashy series.

Loafers without shoes is a great look. Seriously, Miami Vice is not a TV show, it's a way of life...a state of mind.

Anyone know what watch Crockett wore? I think it was an Ebel Chrono with an El Primero movement. For years I thought it was a gold Daytona.
