  1. Anothing to add to the list:

    1) State customs policy & what will happen if the watch is confiscated/never delivered & an acceptible time frame (i.e. a month) for the watch to be considered "lost"

    2) State whether or not a tracking number will be provided, and an acceptable time frame for that number to be provided (i.e. one week)

    3) State whether or not the watch is in stock

These things should be clearly stated in the sales thread for each watch or on each website listing.

I think many dealers are clear about most of these points, but there are one or two that need to disclose these facts - if they were known upfront it would clear up a lot of issues.

  2. Are you saying that these people are the best?

I did not say that they were or were not the "best", I just said to check them out ;) and provided a few more search terms since that watch begs for research.

That said, I doubt they would dissapoint you.

  3. I'll be switching to RSS when the only computer I use is my own (ie. Once I move to Scotland and go freelance) and when Apple add RSS to Mail.app (in Leopard, from what we hear). I'm not a fan of putting everything on http://www.google.com/ig just yet, so I need a single computer to do it on. :D

I am curious to try the RSS in mail.app; I found the limited functionality of safari... lacking. Ended up using google reader since I can access it from every computer.... I gave up a long time ago; google has my life in it.

I have no @#%#$# clue why steve jobs is going to yahoo for email; I would be much happier if they would let .Mac die, embrace google, and integrate everything with google. If they would beef up .Mac with decent storage I would buy it for that - the 30 GB rumor was too good to be true :(

  4. Ok just a quick update after much to and fro with my supplier it has finally been revealed that yes everything I have stated here is true, but and it's a big but.................the copy will be available sometime after the gen hit's the shelves.

    Ken

    :( :( :(

I will probably just pick up the gen one, although I'll probably drop it drunk and need to buy the copy to replace it. :whistling:

  5. what the [censored] is this supposed to mean? who talked about ms exchange servers? I dont even need a blackberry! plus, most of the time I dont 'work' behind the bar, I manage the lounge bar.

but lets keep it real, you work at home, you dont travel from city to city everyday and you dont have 20 meetings a day. those are the kind of people that have and NEED their blackberry. and they wont switch to the iphone, because the iphone is just NOT a blackberry. it does NOT have the blackberry functions.

the iphone is nothing more than a toy, its not for people who are in serious need of an organzier with automatic synching functions

edit: if you can really get those iPhones for 300 bucks, I'd be in. But I'd like to see some pictures first.

Actually since it is synching with iCal & address book it will be a serious organizer.

  6. I say it again, the iPhone DOES NOT REPLACE A GOOD BLACKBERRY ORGANZIER. Period

humm i am all to familiar with an office of several hundred attorneys who are married to their crackberry - and the most popular question I have heard is how/when/if they can swich to the iphone as a replacement.

  7. I would shell out in a second if it was "mirror"

But I was under the impression the iphone software was not even complete yet? I don't see how they can copy something where all the lines of code are not written.... you can't copy software that doesn't exist.

They also have 4 or 8 gigs of RAM in them? I just don't see how this can be done...

  8. hypothetically, if someone were to charge $45 to blow dust off the dial of every watch they opened they could probably buy a villa really quick. Speaking hypothetically, that is. One could probably get good money from all sorts of hypothetically unsound business practices like hypothetically holding my watch for 2-3 months, hypothetically not returning calls or emails, and then hypothetically charging me $25 "processing fee" to get the watch and money back. Hypothetically speaking, that is.

As for dealers, I have no problem with them running a successful business. I do hate that some of the prices have been rising and that will lead me to purchase less watches - but I am sure they understand the economics of that.
