  1. Mikimoto is "the" brand to buy, they have a very distinctive clasp. They are the rolex of pearls (not the Patek or Vacheron though).

Way over-priced for what you get. I lucked out when my girlfriend for some strange reason decided pearls are the ONE thing in life she doesn't care who they are made by. Shocker. Saved me 2/3 the price though!

Best bet is to find someone local who imports by the finger (bunch of strands) and have them make you something. I know you are looking for a pendant, as you already have the strand necklace. I would still talk to someone local and see if you can get a deal. There is an older jewerly store her that does lots of estate jewelry that has a direct connection, you might check for something like that where you live.

  2. This can't be true. If it is, it seems to me that GAF ought to be careful of whh auctions they pull. I an't imagine that hey have a right to pull an auction of someone selling an autentic rolex part. If they think they do I hope they pull the auction of someone with pockets deep enough and a temper bad enough to fight it. Can you imagine what would happen if a court upheld the right of companies to use their brand name copyright to prevent the sale of used parts? Think about it: cars, computers, anything. It would be chaos.

Slay, do you have a copy of the pics and auction test you used? I'd love to see what GAF thinks gives them the right to stop the sale of a genuine Rolex part.

You read the terms when you joined Ebay? I have no doubt it is covered somewhere in there... along with everything else such as alien attacks in the catch-all.

  3. I have many watches, along with

rolex sub: real box, real papers, no watch - lol

vacheron constantin: - real box, no papers, nice overseas rep

Pam 111 - fake box, fake papers, fake watch (my favorite watch!).

I have never shown the boxes or papers to anyone. I just like having them? Just for fun; can't really explain it. Saw them for sale and though, why the hell not? Doesn't have anything to do with passing them off, I just thought it would be fun.

  4. I'm assuming there are reasons behind this I will never know, nor I need to know, and I can accept that.

I want to commend RT on the work, he has put in a lot here. It is certainly a cool project. I'm hoping someone will hit on _the_ watch to do; I don't think the sweet spot one has come out yet. I think Pug's fortis was a step towards that general mass appeal.

I am honestly wondering if there are many watches out there that are not repped that have broad appeal...

  5. We are not keeping anything from Jay,.. he visits the forum and knows what's going on...

Just as a side question, would you gamble your whole business on the production of one watch ?

Not my business. But then my business is not a watch business... :bleh:

It is cost/benefit. Far be it from me to tell him what to do; but I would hate for something to be held back.

  6. ... and we've heard that the Shaolin Mafia wouldn't let it happen. :D

It doesn't matter what the outcome of the vote is if Jay says he's not doing a Sub.

Not sure what the votes are... but if it is the winner I think it would at least make sense to _tell_ Jay. If I were him I would want to know what the actual results were...
