  1. Wow, I am impressed! I can't believe you found the right crown. I have ordered three, none of which have worked. Two were # 24-603-0. I am beginning to think my tube has been switched out or ebay sellers mis-represent the items they list. Hopefully I will get lucky soon.

  2. Somewhat annoyed at jay for ignoring my email for 5 days.

After he said he had no idea of the time line I requested a refund - I travel and can't be bothered with having things randomly show up - and also I thought I was purchasing an in-stock watch and not watch futures. Sadly this behavior is becoming typical around here. He has always been good before; I hope he resolves this soon.

  3. We've been hearing about the 2824 shortages for quite a while now. How come this is new news?

Because it is keeping my watch from me! :) It is news for this particular model; I was under the impression mine was in stock. Speaking of which; I am not a big fan of being sold a watch that is not in stock. This is the type of thing that should be disclosed before payment is made. I like jay & angel though; small blip that hopefully will be resolved soon.

  4. They are both good people; might as well drop it till more shots come in. It bugs me how white the dial looks but I think/hope it is just the photos. I am a few avenues over from a wempe store with the white face in the window so I will stop by and do a detail comparison.

Same boat as the poster above - ordered but no tracking # yet. They have always been a little slow with the #s every time I have ordered in the past though so don't sweat yet.

  5. Dress for the occasion, location, and crowd. I have been sporting my 231 on dates with my girfriend lately - she is on the mend for hip sushi places. I like it. Bling but not too blingy (no diamonds). Nice brand (but not a rolex). Just a little something for the doorman or maitre de to catch notice of.

Also it is easy to read the big face when I am drunk :)

  6. Amigo, read the links to the newstory (verifed since): this hog was no wilder than a pussycat. And that idiot 'Chirstian-schooled' redneck kid - excuse me, that fine young Southern gentleman - had to keep pumping rounds into it for three hours before it died.

Furthermore (as if any were needed), it ain't no wild boar: it's just a plain barnyard pig, a hog - y'all know what I mean here?

'Scuse me, but where do I vomit?

I'm sorry, I am just not finding it... I see "5-inch tusks, decided to charge. With the animal finally dead in a creek bed on the 2,500-acre Lost Creek Plantation"

I am not commenting on the kid or him killing the pig... I have never encountered one personally but I know other hunters who have been chased up a tree by wild hogs.

They are dangerous. I also never saw any reports on his accuracy so I would be hesitant to judge the shots. A .50 is a serious round and I don't think there is any report of where the first round hit.

Someone released russian boars on some of our land and our fellow lesees had to exterminate them... they are a nuisance, not natural to the area, and destroy habitat. Good riddance.

  7. I think a good explination of the "less informative" complaint stems from the fact that when you are new, literally every bit of information on the board you read teaches you something you did not know before. After you read and post for a while, your level of knowledge grows rapidly. However, the amount of information on the forum grows much slower - you are learning what developed over years in a few weeks/months. Thus, you begin to think the board is "less informative" - which really is not the case at all, the body of knowledge is still growing at the same pace or faster. The problem is you already know much of what is know, so each post is less informative in that you are more likely to know what that post teaches, unlike before when it was more likely you would learn from it.

    Just my 0.02.

  8. I collect, but I only collect what I like. I have several in my box I like a great deal, but do not wear. However, I have sold many I don't like. The great thing with reps if after you get bored/tired of one, or you decide you don't like it, you can sell it. I bought the ti gst on the hype, and immediately sold it at a modest lost. Kept a fiddy, thought I liked it for about 4 months, and the decided I hated it and sold it at a loss too. If/when you decide you don't like one, you might as well sell it. Better to put the money on something you want than in something you don't.
