  1. Hey guys,

I have a franken project for a Noob 114060, installed gen dial, spongebob insert and a JF SH3130 movement.

The Noob 114060 originally came with a 2824, I’m now having a small problem securing the SH3130 into the case, the movement tabs required are an awkward size.

Does anyone know of a movement retaining ring that would serve the purpose to secure the movement in place? All other ideas welcome!

    Cheers,

    PB

  2. I find it strange the SH3135 doesn’t take a gen seconds hand. Did you get it from JF? I have replaced the fourth wheel (seconds) on a SH3135, the part number is 3135-360. For the quickset date function, it didn’t work for me at first, but you can try applying a tiny rub of gasket grease on the underside of the date wheel and even remove the jewel sat at the top, the jewel has not great purpose. My quickset date function works fine now.

  3. Looks Great! But just curious, what do you think of the WSO date wheel? How close is it to the gen Rollie?

It’s 10 times better than the stock JF but it missing some pronounced serifs like the gen.

  4. Hey guys, I’m having continued issues with my Explorer 1 (bought m2m) on SH3132 even after I had this serviced.

I’ve got a tiny experience in tear downs, still working and learning, and will open up the Explorer 1 to see what’s up, but thought I’d post some Timegrapher stats to see if some learned smiths can offer some suggestions...

  5. Not true.. I have gen dw on my sh3135 and working nicely, without sanding.

Ok, there have been a number of examples from some modders, misiekped included, where the quickset date function did not work with the gen or aftermarket wheel. I am in the process of fixing mine, due to this issue.

I believe the adjustment is very fine. So it’s unsurprising there may be examples where the gen date wheel goes straight in and works.

  6. Add a gen datewheel to your list. The JF one is horrid.

I don’t think you need to spend $150 on a gen date wheel, you can get an awesome aftermarket one on eBay... but bear in mind, the gen or aftermarket datewheel will need a very fine sanding to match the JF datewheel size, else the quickset date function won’t work.

  7. Guys, thank you for the great input to my thread! I’m going to get some 2000 sand paper and trying filling down the date wheel a touch, hugop’s idea on the jewel is also something I might try. I’m waiting on some deliveries to help with the project, once it arrives I’ll post the outcome
