Lanikai,
I haven't been a member here for very long but I've read almost all your posts with rapt attention. Your detail, expertise, perseverance, and true love for the hobby shine through in your posts on this board and I think that everyone here should appreciate your superlative (to coin Rolex's favorite phrase) reviews and advice and stop with all the [censored].

I might be getting rid of mine soon... SFSO from PreciousTime (search him) that I just never wear anymore. Double AR, Swiss ETA, etc.

I was under the impression that for a particular movement to be COSC certified, it has to be individually numbered. tested, and cataloged by the manufacturer. For instance, the COSC certificate that I requested from Omega shows the same serial number that is on my watch case and on the individual movement, as well as provides the number of seconds gained/lost in each of the 5 positions (and 3 temperatures) for my watch.
In the (IMO) very informative "Inside COSC" article by Watchbore on TimeZone (hxxp://www.timezone.com/library/wbore/wbore631733384647656250) the author states that "in 2001, COSC

@ Chet:
Exactly! The movement is the heart of the watch! I'd almost rather a watch have a glaring cosmetic fault rather than sitting unused in a box because the "Swiss" movement failed.

Jeeze, if that thing was flying down the street towards me I'd probably get the "deer in the headlights" look. Crazy car!

I personally love my Movado for dressy, understated events (the classic gold Museum watch) and it's not tough at all to rep IMO (I mean, it's quartz with no seconds hand...throw a Japanese quartz in there you could sell it at $100 and probably make a profit) but I feel as though Movado doesn't have the same "flash" status that the PAMS, Rollies, Omegas...we see regularly on the boards, and hence the lack of demand has resulted in the manufacturers focusing on more (potentially) lucrative watches.

Very in depth Timepiece! Thanks for the write up!!!

Typing was a problem for me (at least initially) and can still be a problem whilst inebriated however I'm getting better (not sure if that's a good thing though )
Anyways, one cool feature I like is:
When the phone is locked and you're using the iPod app to play music, instead of having to swipe, unlock, select iPod, etc. you can just double tap the home button and it'll bring up a small menu allowing you to pause, change volume, go forward or go back. Pretty handy if you ask me!!!

@POTR
That infuriates me beyond belief!

Just purchased the 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe. It's no LS7 but it's quite fast and, most importantly, agile!

I was just there today on my way back to Grand Central...pretty hit or miss and the selection is usually better in warmer weather.

Like TT I've always been a Tanqueray fan but I'll have to give this a shot (or two or three or four )

You should have let me know you were coming! I would have come up from Fairfield and seen it with you! I'm a Patriots fan but regardless , that was an amazing game! Hope you enjoyed The City!

I'm going to be honest, I've never really liked white on sport watches.
I must say though, this is a beautiful piece!!!
Enjoy!

I'm a die hard Patriots fan through and through.
But quite honestly, that was the most amazing game I've ever seen in my life. Both teams played so hard and fought their way back breaking records in just about every quarter. I love (and personally know) Belichick and know that he is genius, but he made a significant tactical error in not going for the field goal when it was 4th and 12. Regardless of this (20/20 hindsight), you do not walk on the field when there's still time left on the clock. No matter how upset you are, it's unsportsmanlike and unbecoming of a great team like the Patriots. The Giants played an amazing game and caused, without a doubt, one of (if not the) biggest upsets in pro football history and all I can say is that both teams had amazing seasons and I can't wait for football season to come around again!!!
