  1. It's only clutter if it serves no function. So one man's clutter is another man's necessity.

Diamonds on a watch, for example, don't serve any function that is meaningful to me.

Date wheels and GMT hands, on the other hand, are extremely useful features, more so than numerals on bezels.

Unless you are a diver or actually use them for timing purposes, I find numbers on bezels to be the an unnecessary piece of busy-ness.

Having said that, I still love all of my watches with numbered bezels, including the SMP, which I am wearing today, the UPO, Speedmaster, and Chopard Mille Miglia GMT.

Along the line of thought that you are pursuing, I wonder what percentage of RWG members' collections are made up of chronos and what percentage is non-chrono. I just checked my collection, and mine is split between 5 chronos and 7 non-chronos.

    Good Lord!

  2. My tracking number from Andrew still shows that there has been no update (AKA, item either hasn't been shipped or was just shipped within the last 24 hours (I'd bet on the former)).

In other news, congrats on the iPhone Pug. I just brought one here in the states and used www.jailbreakme.com to install third party apps and such- loads of fun.

I'm just waiting to hear from the first people to get their Aquatimers!

  3. Swiss SFSO isn't a bad watch, I have it. Ordered it from PT but mine suffered from a crappy bracelet and some slight misalignment of the bezel (Little things you'll find in most reviews). At the end of the day, it seems like the SFSO is of a more sporting nature than the EVO, so it depends on the look you're going for.

  4. If you followed the rebuilding process, you would know what I am referring to. Months after 9/11, they came out with 6 prelimary designs which was poorly received.

Then they held a design contest a year later with thousands of entries of what to do with the site. I beleive it was then narrowed down to 7 designs then with the Freedom Tower design being the winner. Again, the original design for the Freedom Tower was poorly received. At this point, people wanted the Towers back.

You had lawsuits with Silverstein over how much he should receive from insurance. You had politics playing a big part of this. The Port Authority got involved. Families got involved. Yes, it wasn't an easy process, but it took much longer that it should have in the first place.

As a proud American, I would have like for the Towers to be rebuild - again - bigger, taller, stronger. Many Americans, regardless of what is being built, would have liked to see the rebuilding process take shape alot quicker with quicker results.

BTW - not Bush's fault - it was the 19 mother F*#!&@ fault and that impotent smelly f*#& hiding in his littel cave.

Goddamn right! I don't agree with Bush's policies but as an American I'll say straight up, blame Bush for whatever, the bastards that flew those planes were the true monsters.

    God Bless America
