Most collectors would prefer original/untampered. Plus, tritium will tend to develop a nice patina with age and condition; this is preferred as well as it's viewed as character and vintage charm.
My vote goes to keeping the watch as-is.
Agreed... I was able to negotiate a few hundred off the asking price of one of the vintages watches I purchased last week as the original owner had the tritium hands swapped out with SL hands at a service last year.

I've been on a buying spree (4 gens in as many weeks) so this is my latest acquisition:
1968 Rolex DateJust 1603 - engine turned bezel, non-quickset, slow beat 1565 movement @18,000 vph (my favorite Rolex movements ever are the 15xx series, preference to the 156x)
Delicious pie-pan dial to match my '62 Omega Constellation at least...that was my justification.
Just serviced by Rolex with box and papers... Baton hands were replaced at the last owners option at the service last year...I'll probably pick up a pair of tritium Dauphine hands and swap them out so it matches my 1960's OP 1002

Something on his end for sure. DNS seems messed up now.
http://www.jewelryandwatch.com gets "Connection Refused"
But http://jewelryandwatch.com connects fine, however I still can't pull up the product index.
Hmm...neither of those are working from East CONUS...

Quick and dirty crop but here's me at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, USA last weekend. Gen Rolex OP Chronometer on the wrist, Tanqueray and Tonic nearby and a delicious Rocky Patel vintage cigar. I'm playing BlackJack while waiting to jump on a mid-limit "real" table.

That's terrible.. you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers...

I'm waiting on a Gen Seamaster Chrono from Malta that was sent on the 20th and hasn't even entered the US yet

If I had it I would... Kurt is an amazing guy and a stand up member. Anyone who needs compensation for these services...I'll pay for it.
