so I was talking to a couple of friends who are into buying anything. So I said "hey soo why not for your next purpose get yourself a roles" and they said no, not worth the money. So then I said you can get replicas and at that moment their faces went into this ghastly expression. And they said why would they want to wear a fake for? What's the point? You can never hand it out if your boss or collegue wants to check it out. And whappens if it breaks, now you either stop wearing it or find a guy who'll be willing to work on a fake rolex. And if you do find someone like that what does that say about that person's character?

There's are really good friends of mine and they don't know that I collect reps.

Maybe if you where honest against them that you do collect reps from the start then maybe they woud be more open for you suggestion.

I think you made the right choice. I have been doing the same. I only have 1 EXP II rep left that I will sell soon.

I have picking up some incredible deals off TZ, Bond Pro Auto for 750, Steelfish SO New model blk face SS for 1150, with the prices of the reps going up and up It is just not worth it to me anymore......Unless I am looking for a Presidental 18K Ha.....

Sure you can buy gens insted of res, but lets talk price.

A AP ROO cost 20k$ and realy is just a steel case whit a chrono movment the rep cost 600$ and is great in terms of quality and function.

So if you can live life whit 800$ gens then go head if that makes you happy then that is what matters..

Some things just don't add up for me.. and if you could help me clear it up (for me) ..

If the package were empty when it arrived in the US.. the light weight and lack of item listed on the paper work in the package and the "cut" in the package would surely arouse the interest of Homeland Security ... they do check the paper work to the item very carefully.. I will not get into how I have experienced this "twice" .. from the same point of origin..

If it were opened by customs it would be sealed with a green US Customs tape.. I will add a pic in a minute .... if they confinscated it from Thailand you would not get a package at all.. but a ceritified letter in the mail .. usually stating not siezure but .. your item has been returned to the original sender due to lack of sufficient documentation for purposes of Duties.....your dealer would get the watch back and that would be that.. btw if you have it sent out EMS instead of Priority or First class you would really not have the problem I have just stated.. for some reason EMS is handled differently than other choices of freight...advantage is definately with the reciever on EMS..

So therefore the package had to have been opened(in theory) in between customs at the Airport and the final destination (your post office) before it gets to you...

and Customs is a very, very secure area.. no other people except sidearm totingagents are in there.. .. the truck is loaded in the Customs area and it goes straight to the Post office..

Post system in the hole world is like a ant farm of thiefs its simpel even custom agents and high ranked post officals steals.

I'm going OT here, but according to some people I know who work in the system, rape isn't as common in there as we're lead to believe. I mean come on, it's a bunch of ignorant tough guys, what self respecting tough guy wants to ummm...touch another man? And rape is never funny.

On topic, the thief will eventually get caught, and that will stop future losses, but unfortunately it wont get anyone's watches back. Bittersweet. I do hope it is sooner rather than later.

Uhh In the US rape is very common due to the lenght of the normal prison term..After 10years a tight man's but will seem pretty ok for some its illegal in most US prison to have porn mags and such so guess what after some time people get desprate.

I whaited 5 months for my emergency and if i woud service my jlc they gave me time frame of 4months minnimum lol a regular movment from jlc you shoud think a AD coud do a simpel service on it

Tried the skyland with SSB at AD and it's quite big and heavy IMO, it's very thick. The AD weighed it in front of me because I expressed my concerns about the size and it weighs 255 gm before resizing. Quite a heavy weight, I can't wear such a heavy watch unless I go for the rubber or leather strap. This is what I do with my SOSF because with the SSB it's too heavy for my wrist. Probably one of the major reasons I would skip the skyland, although it is a real beauty.

For sure the weight is not nice at all on the skyland..

I had mine and used it not for long periods due to the weight.

But i saw one on leather strap at my AD yesterday and it looked damn nice

I enjoy the reps all mine are swiss movment so they can last forever as almost all watchmakers can fix them and their is maybe 10 people in my country that can spot their flaws when handling them in their hands

Also i already own one of my grail watches JLC EWA Rossi and my beater the Emergency is great for everyday use..

But i can easy understand why some woud sell their reps to get their all time fav gens..

Can someone pls share how is the quality of their rubber strap? Also, is it possible to remove the end links from oracle straps to use them for another AP strap?

Just realized that oracle straps don't carry leather straps. Is strapluxe or ap bands the only option?

I don't see ap bands as a option but yes those 2 is about it.

The carbon strap is also great from oracle i use that on mine but also the rubber is great.

The adapters shoud work on all straps, i have yet to try it but i can't see why they shoud not.

Israel will need all the support US can give them whitout the US they woud all be dead i think, their is a reason why Israel is now'n to be swift in action i think all countrys in the world woud be fast on the trigger if they had the US as backup.

I do hope Israel deals whit Iran's nuclear program in a good tactical way if they will do anything and not provoce to much..

The retail price at the AD was $189. I was able to get it for $129. They had others including the deployant rubber. I will be back down there this Saturday to pick up a deployant for my buddy Dani!

Reason i asked my good bro here is that the AD in Norway is just opend so they cant provide parts yet..

I dont know if all AD's will provide parts for these watches. I know that I have been asked via PM 4 times in the last day for my AD's contact information. And although I am a rather giving person, I dont care to share that information. Simply because I have bought a few gens from this AD and I dont care for someone to slip and inform the AD that they received the info from someone on a rep forum. Call me paranoid, but its about the same reason why I wont accept Paypal... Its just not worth the risk.

With that said, I also dont feel comfortable buying several identical watch straps from them. I was pleasantly asked if this was for my personal watch and I stated that it was. I have been able to order a gen rubber bezel, and when I stated I would do the swap myself the AD almost died. "WHO takes apart a $20k watch at their kitchen table?" was the question she asked. I calmly stated that I do on a regular basis...

In any event, I would think that if you are calm and act properly most AD will sell you the strap (if they have it). But I doubt that they would go to the effort of ordering one in for you.

And as ALWAYS when dealing with an AD... the perception that you OWN a $20k watch is all that is necessary. DO NOT wear your rep in there. AND do not go in looking or acting like you couldn't afford or wear a $20k rep. They need to believe that they are selling to an end user, and not to someone who is throwing the parts on a rep or on Ebay!
