  1. That "olive" strap is actually my Golden Brown strap that the previous owner had gotten soaked in a heavy rainstorm while riding his motorcycle. If he charged you $120 for it, you could have gotten it from me for $85 brand new and not damaged. Here is what it looks like without damage:
  2. I too would like to know how it did that. It's a great leather. My favorite of all the leathers I have. I actually have 2 I have made for my personal use.
  3. In the picture with all 3 straps, the middle one is made by me. It is my A2 leather custom strap.
  4. Yeah I have seen those, but thanks for the link. IMO it doesn't wear that huge. If DSN truly does have a model like this coming out and it looks close, I'll be getting it and let you know if it wears big on me.
  5. Is it just me or does the crown on the 341 look like a piece of canal street crap??
  6. If it stays true to the vintage Egiziano it will be a 24mm strap. I have seen some other pics of it and the strap that it does come with is quite nice and is even has the sewn in vintage GPF Mod-Dep buckle. 60mm isn't really all that big when you think about it. That dimension is the whole watch including CG. I mean it's not small, but the 44mm PAM's we wear do no take into account the extra thickness of the CG.
  7. Do you still have these pics? Or should I contact DSN for them?? I would love to see what he came up with.
  8. I fell in love with rattle snake on the GMT's. The 029 and 063 look great with it!
  9. It's a Swiss Base, with Asian cosmetics added on. This is not an Asian clone.
  10. I'm still here and going strong. Well as strong as can be. Thanks for all the nice compliments.
  11. DOH!! My bad, I should have looked at the watch instead of posting first. Thanks for the correction I have a strap I call the 4PM, I have compared side by side with the MP4 and it's very close (except mine is 100% handmade and NOT a mass produced machine made strap. Half the price too!). Here is a picture of it on another PAM, but you get the idea:
  12. Here is my bluesteel strap on the 113: If you don't liek the greyish blue combo, I have always thought that a buttersctoch color would nice with the white dial.
  13. Thanks for the recommendation kruzer00. That is my B2 leather with custom finish and golden wheat thread. You can PM me How's this look? It's totally different than the papaya MP, but it meets the requirements quoted above: I have all varities of thread color as well.
  14. Thank you for the correction and the compliment. This was a special strap done for this watch. If I would have had the money this bad boy would have been mine!
  15. Or you can get a strap sewn onto the watch by a strapmaker.
  16. Well then PM me. Like I said earlier I do not think this thread is the place for this discussion. V brought a great product to the masses and he deserves whatever he wants to charge for them. People are not complaining about the cost. So no concerns there.
  17. gavidoc, I appreciate your comments. Thanks for sharing your experience in the field of part sourcing. I guarantee you the companies I talked with and got quotes from are all legit. Furthermore, I don't know when you worked for one of the largest appliance manufactor's, but there have been great leaps and bounds in the past couple years in machining. Heck you can get a 3d scanner for your desktop now for under $2,500. I don't think this is thread to talk about it though. All I was pointing out is that pictures that V provided showed that the finish was not up to par with the gen. Many people seem to have gotten theirs and they love them. I am glad. I said it was a great thing he was doing in making these available to everyone. I don't have any in hand so i can't comment how they look in person. All I was going off of was V's pictures.
  18. What do you mean by the quote above? Did gunny sell you some of the leather or did you buy one of his straps?
  19. Whoa Whoa, I said it was a great effort. And truly it is one of the best out there. I was just stating that it's not 1:1. Here are some of your own photos with the highlghted problem areas: The first picture shows that the inside radii is not to the same tolerance as the gen. Also the straight going to the radius is not smooth, but looks rough. The second picture shows that while it's a good copy, it's not 1:1. The bend on the end is not like the gen and the round piece that touches the crown is larger. Not by much, but it's larger. So then, as to your comments on me sending you numerous PM's requesting the CAD files, I have those as well (numerous is a bit of an exagerration). I never demanded them in an effort to make them myself. I only tried to help you out by giving you my sources for making them. I thought this was a project to benefit the community more than line a pocket. I have no problem with you making any money or tons of it, more power to you. I was simply and nicely trying to help I know for a fact that you can get them made for around $15 each in the USA, not China. And by micro machinist using axis lasers with a much higher tolerance than any CNC. That's materials included.
  20. It looks pretty good V. Although it's still not there. I admit this is the first one I have seen with he curvature that should be there, and that looks great. But the inner radii where the crown goes, looks to be less than the gen and much rougher. Also the lever itself looks too large along with the pin. Are you going to do subsequent runs? If so, you may want to use a different machinist with better tolerances. I hope they at least gave you the CAD file that way you could go to different micro manufacturers. I also do not know how much these cost (last I heard was in the ballpark of $150 each), but I do know that you can get it made for a tenth of that.
  21. I just wanted to add (so there is no confusion) that the Moroccan sunset, Blue Steel and B2 are all my leathers. I make them 100% by hand. I personally make them, and use no electrical or mechanical device what so ever. Simona's is the blue one. She does not make her own straps. She has a factory to machine make and mass produce the straps for her. That is not a guess or opinion. It's a fact from her own mouth. I do NOT want to get looped in with a machine made, mass produced strap.
  22. Sorry I dont' have pics of that combo. Thanks for the compliment. That's a vacuum non branded watch (it's not mine, it's a customer of mine), and it's a 100% Swiss like you would get from Ofrei.
  23. PM me. I don't want to clog this thread with pricing and orders
  24. Yes I have. It does bring out the blue tint of the leather a bit more.
  25. Here are a couple that I think go well with the 082: This is my Moroccan Sunset with blue stitching: This is my B2 leather with blue stitching: I prefer the Moroccan Sunset. And if I ever get a 082, that will be the strap I make for it.
