I actually did buy one and found it to be of poor quality. The box itself is beautiful but, the actual winder motors are crap and didnt keep my watches wound regardless of the setting I used. In fact, I found that all of the motors were so poor that they each rotated at different speeds and revolutions per minute.

Your solution was not correct for my situation. The issue wasnt the hole, but the fact that the opening for the CG pin was too wide. Tightening the pin would not keep it from wobbling so, no amount of silicone or wire insulation would fix the lever, in my case anyway. Pressure was needed to "pinch" the sides of the crown guard closer togetherby a fraction, and then the lever was tight. I also ruined the crown guard by using a pair of plyers with teeth on it, even though I taped them up pretty good, they still left a mark so I traded one small problem for another larger one. However, the solution worked perfectly and the pin no longer wiggles so, in the future, anyone trying this should be careful to use plenty of protection on the guard before applying pressure.

Count me in for 3 pair if they are ever repped. One for me and 2 for gifts!

So in my efforts to fix the loose pin on my crown guard I damaged the guard. Any suggestions on where to find a new one in brushed? Original or replica? THX

yup, loose when in open position and fine when closed. just annoying really.

I dont know if I described it correctly but, on Panerais with the large crown guard, there is a lever that closes into the guard and against the crown of the watch. On my rep, and from what i have gathered on almost every rep, this pin is wobbly when in the open position. I have read for hours with no solution. I heard a vice to pinch the sides, some wire tubing trimmed to shim the hole. In my case, it seems that it wiggles from side to side and would require a washer or shim of some kind (or vice) to make it tight. What is the solution..simple I hope.

Well, it is a 50th anniversary sub with a swiss eta 2836-2 movement. I am fairly certain it did click and is supposed to click but, assuming it didnt click, why do I have the double ended pin that was in the hole? Why would someone put the pin in the hole in the first place if it served no purpose? Any suggestions on finding that spring?

The hole is far too small to use a spring from a pen..no pen I know of that small. I have the pin part just not the spring so when the pin is inserted into the hole it sinks to the bottom of the case. Maybe a pencil eraser will work but, eventually that will wear out too. I wish the "sticky" instructions on watch disassembly would have mentioned those parts, now I am hard pressed to find such a spring.

Just messing around with a Rolex Rep I have in my house and in my attempt to return it back to life, the bezel no longer "clicks". I stole a photo from another post as it appears to be the same case I have with a small hole at 11 o'clock. I found a small piece that could fit in the hole but, i think it is too shallow in the hole to click with the teeth on the bottom of the bezel. Any suggestions?

I was wondering if you guys know of anyone, either a member, vendor, watchmaker (YOU) etc.. who has modified a double red or seadweller or any of the vintage rolex sport watches to look nearly indistinguishable and would like to sell it. The rivoted bracelet is awesome and the mods made make some of these replicas look suburb. Maybe you guys know where I can get my hands on a replica that has been heavily modified to look genuine. If you can help me out it would be much appreciated. Most of the articles i have red claim that no vendors have them looking "right" but after modification they are pretty spot on so, if someone is tired of their modded Rolex or knows of someone who wants to get paid for a project, feel free to PM or reply.

Raijor: looks like we were posting simultaneously. I have no problem upgrading to a VIP membership, I didnt even know it was available. However, getting a list of the best dealers still wont tell me who has the best replicas. I have no concern that the dealers mentioned on this site are reputable and will ship a watch and even stand behind them for returns or repair but, where can I go to read about the accuracy of the replica (not so much the accuracy of keeping time) but the accuracy of the actual watch? I frequent so many different types of forums and I always cringe when people write lenghty posts about using the search feature or paying their dues when in the same time or less they could just pm a link or be helpful. This isnt the secret to save the world you know, just looking for some advice from poeple who have been down this road and want people to avoid the mistakes they made. Do I have to burn my hand in fire before you tell me not to stick my hand in the flame?

I've spent all day today reading posts and as a lurker I have spent countless more hours reading all of the reviews and opinions on vendors but, I still can't seem to get a handle on some Rolex Replica questions. In the past I have bought "swiss" replicas from ideal watches and some other sites I have found and while they are quite expensive, they seemed to be fairly accurate replicas with sapphire crystals and the crown logo etched into the 6 position as well as some other markings. They arent perfect and they are damn expensive. Now, I don't mind paying the piper if those are the best replicas you can find but, you guys seem to feel that there are other vendors whos replicas are far more accurate and at a fraction of the price. I'm all for saving money but, if there is a Rolex GMT 2 out there or even a vintage double red or something that is interesting AND accurate then someone please point me to a dealer or site that is really good. Weeding through all of the posts here is daunting. I only want the very best and most accurate replicas. PM is fine too and thanks for any help. Beever
