  1. I just read the description on the Rolex site......The watch is self is very impressive, especially if you don't look at it:p I like that new extension clasp. Titanium/steel back.....synthetic domed sapphire....very cool. Looks like they would have quite a tough time replicating this one. Maybe they should try to look at the patent drawings and rep it off of that and we could see one before the AD's do. Now that would be cool.

  2. I ordered an asian 2836 version. What I don't understand about this is, since the watch doesn't function as a true GMT anyway, why couldn't they stack the hands correctly, giving it a better appearence? They would need an HR hand with a larger hole and a GMT hand with a smaller hole, switch it around, and there you go......or am I missing something? The CHS version may change the time/gmt time like the gen, but the date changes at the GMT hand's midnight, so is it worth it to spend +/-$200 more?

But seriously, why cant they just source different hands for the 2836 IHS version and stack them correctly?

  3. youpmelone is correct, Rolex24h.com is a scam..... There was something about this in another GMTII thread. I suspect that the guy may also try to steal your banking info. Shoot him some emails from different addy's and see how many US account #'s he gives you with different names, probably stolen accounts that he's adding some $$ to before he pulls it all out. BAD NEWS

  5. Ok, I am about to leave for work right now, I'll have to go back and read the entire thread later when I have time.

I left off around where people were talking of the dislike towards automatic billing/recurring payments. How about if the "RWG 300" all PLEDGE to pay on say, the 20th or whenever, to a separate payment location than regular supporters and donors, and then on the 21st or 22nd, Admin or someone can look at whatever it is they look at, and see if 300 people paid? If not, they may have to work a little, but if everyone pays, it can be almost as automatic as recurring automatic payments.

I would pay $5 a month no problem for this site. It is the best site of its kind out there.

  6. Doesn't seem like this should be "rare." Maybe on the bay, but I imagine buying brand new at an AD would get you the same thing, unless they all take the watch out of the shipping material.

"WE ARE OFFERING THE FIRST FACTORY SEALED ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL COSMOGRAPH DAYTONA." (on ebay?)

    Ebay # 260245396618

  7. Yeah that's what i was looking at earlier. I used 220 grit for sanding and while slow it seems to be working. As for polishing, won't a cap cod cloth polish it up as well as a polishing wheel?

Now that I think of it, I did use 220 first. But the 220 is very rough, and I stepped it up with higher grain paper to smooth it out. 220 left lines. A cape cod should work, the wheel I used was just faster, like done in 15 seconds fast :D Hand polishing is measured in minutes.
