  1. Welcome to our insanity. Coming at you from Gwinnett but don't stalk me. :) Maybe if we get enough GA folks we can have a "GTG" (get together) and show off watches and consume enormous amounts of alcohol.

Use the search tool, it is your new best friend and think of these watches like Lay's potato chips.....you can't have just one.

Hi all, I'm from Gwinnett as well. If we can get a small group I'd definately love to get together. Anybody else from GA?

  2. I would highly recommend the Everglades, riding the swamp boats is fantastic and there really is some beautiful scenery and wildlife to be seen. I would also recommend check to see if there are any space shuttle launches during that time frame. You can ride over to Cape Canaveral (about 45 minutes) and check out the launch and the museum while you're there.

  3. Angus you are talking about 904L steel platinum plated and with the corect tube position, which means expensive movement ...then we have a watch at the range of 550 to 650$??? This is not good...Lets hope to keep the price low....

For a near perfect rep using 904L steel, platinum plating and 2892 movement I'd drop $550. I'd say that's not unreasonable.

  4. Hello everybody.

This is my first topic and i would like to say that i also purchased DUAL TONE from Watchmaker9.

Very impressive and very nice till last Saturday 1 December (Watch received beginning of November 2007).

The pin that fix the bracelet to the case of the watch went off .

I tried to put it back without success (it should be easy !).

I went to a professional watchmaker and he also could not fix it.

Looking at the other pin still fixed to the case of the watch, i can noticed that there is also something wrong.

Personally speaking (i am not an expert but i own a real GMT and a real Aquaracer) i have the impression that the last part of the bracelet has been 'pushed' hardly to the case in order to be blocked (normally it should be fixed with the pin !)

I sent 2 different mail to this person named 'George' asking an address where to ship my watch for repair or substitution and i am still waiting for an answer with the result that i have a over 500 dollar watch stored in my draw.

Reading review and comment at www.watchmaker9.tv/forum, i should not be to much concerned (an answer from this 'George' should arrive any minutes) but i start to ask me about the quality of the product (i hope to be wrong and come back to this forum and inform that my watch has been repaired perfectly).

    Ciao,

    Roberto

Please post a follow up on your repair experience. I'm thinking of picking one up in the future and would like to hear about your experience. Thanks.

  5. I use my chronos all the time. I like to time my commute on my bike, and for different rides on trails around here.

It's amazing to track personal performance and see how it improves over the summer. Then when winter comes

the rides all slow down and the chronos don't get used much.

I guess I should exercise more!

  6. I'm not much for the cluttered look myself. I'll use the elapsed time indicator on the bezel, but almost never will I use any function in a subdial, other than the date. I think that's one of the reasons for Rolex's continued popularity....with the exception of the Daytona, the dials are relatively uncluttered by useless subdials.

Does anybody actually ever use these, and if so for what?

  7. Sorry V, didn't mean to step on your thread. I only recently joined the forums and since you started that post before I joined it never caught my eye. At least I'm starting to think like you....which I guess is alright as long as I don't wind up buying 75 reps!!

Wow, Ironmarshal! You had the exact same reaction as I did, when we were talking of how many watches we had.

I posted this question, "How much are Your Reps Worth...if they were Gens?", at that time.

    http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=53924

I conjectured that it's pretty easy for any of us to have $10,000 worth of reps, if they were gen watches. However, someone on another forum mistook my particular question. They thought WE each thought that's how much the watches were worth.

In my case, as I said back then, it would be an obscene total of dollars. For starters, both Corgi and I have the Patek Sky Moon which sells for $1.5m. So add that to the total of rep watches I revealed earlier...well, my neighbours must think I'm stinking rich.

    There's a larf...

  8. Great post. I too am on the hunt for a specific, hard to find rep....the Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver (so far I'm not even sure there is a rep as nobody seems to have ever seen one, but the chase is part of the fun!). Welcome to the group.

As for Rolex, I'm about to pull the trigger on a modded Yachtmaster Rolesium from bk1234. I know he also does a modded sub, bringing together the best parts of various reps. I'd do a search for his posts as the guy really knows his rollies. Forunately there are quite a few around here that have tremendous expertise on this brand and I'm sure they can give you the insight you need.
