  1. It has character, nothing worse than wrapping a 'working' watch up in kid gloves. All my 'sports' watches take a hammering, even though they are replicas.
  2. Sent PT a mail yesterday and received a reply today so he's still answering them fairly quickly.
  3. I probably wasn't clear the $400 cash was mine, it was stolen along with the silix rep. The actual payout was €1800 for the watch. edit to add: the amusing thing was I've only lived in this country for a few months and thus only been paying premiums for that time!
  4. The funny thing is I wouldn't want an Omega 'Bond' seamaster as a genuine, in fact since the theft it's made me think do I want any genuines at all. That's how gutted I was at the loss of a $150 rep, never mind the $400 cash! My better half is about to become proud owner of an explorer I rep if I ever get any replies from our esteemed dealers! As for me I'm not sure to replace the seamaster rep like for like or go for something different. Things have moved on in the rep world since 2004 when I bought the piece and there are some frighteningly accurate reps out there now (I go for accuracy more than anything else).
  5. Sadly I was the victim of a sneak thief a few weeks ago who entered our house while my girlfriend and I slept. In addition to taking our credit cards and money he also took my silix supplied Omega Seamaster. While it brought me some joy to think of the dismay when the thief realised it's a fake I also didn't want to take the hit as I have insurance. So I filled in the forms, wrote clearly 'replica Omega ETA' on them and waited for the outcome. The cheque came yesterday and they've paid out for a genuine. So the question is this, do I tell them? Or do I buy myself a few new reps and a tank of fuel for my car? (petrol costs $12 a gallon here)
  6. Favourite film is kind of a non-question as it varies according to what one has seen last and one's mood but I'll go for my favourite of *this* moment, so many 'firsts' in this film. Half in 'technicolor', half in monochrome. "A Matter Of Life and Death" Powell and Pressburger's finest. http://www.powell-pressburger.org
  7. You'd be surprised at the amount of messages painted across the track, didn't notice it denuding the grip levels though. I left my mark at Pflanzgarten I, next time I go back maybe I'll put RWG's marker there!
  8. Agreed but (as I've done on a previous trip) there's a certain satisfaction to be had out of picking up your hire car then driving it as the good lord of petrolheads intended on the 'ring.
  9. Never had the chance to visit the colonies yet but I'll make it one day. It looks like an interesting circuit with the ocean surrounding it. Always wanted to drive round the full Bathhurst circuit with no restrictions but I guess that is just a pipe dream. The Nordschleife though is a unique challenge in as much as that it's 13 miles-ish (20.8K)long, it takes a while to remember where you are going! You also have a mix of cars, vans, motorbikes and even the odd coach complete with grey haired passengers, makes for some interesting situations. It's classed as a toll road in German law not a race track anymore. Most definitely not to be confused with the boring track also called the Nurburgring next door where they stage the F1 European Grand Prix. In car shot of me about to hit the 'Karussell' slowed down to 100KM/H to hit this banked area of track as it shakes your fillings out! EL supplied 'SD TW Best vintage 2004' just about making a wrist check Coach
  10. I went in the E39 taxi a few years ago as well, sadly not driven by Sabine. The car is an RS2, albeit not quite standard. A 1995 car that will show quite a few modern cars which way to go.
  11. Anyone on here ever been and driven the most awesome track in the world? 16 Euros for a ride around the 'green hell' in your own car. If it was good enough for Nikki Lauda to burn his ears off at it's good enough for me! Here's me in my old nail of an Audi on the way to a 9 min 12 second lap Lost count of the number of Porsches, Ferraris and Lamborghinis saw there. Hit over 160mph on the Autobahn on the drive down as well. Even had a passenger lap in a modified Fiat Cinquecento who taught me that power isn't everything, running under 100bhp we overtook 911's in some corners. Awesome fun.

    TTK

Personally I'm loving TTK robust response to customer service issues. I'm considering purchasing from him just so I can be a pain in the ass..........
  13. Got myself the black version of this with the metal strap, it's a seriously imposing watch. Not the best timekeeper but it DOES make an impact. Wore mine in the most punishing environments as well and it just looks double hard with a few scratches. Bangs for buck it's one of the best IMO. Scream look at me in orange- for the brave only.
  14. Good to see so many familiar names here. I feel the need, the need for an IWC.
  15. Another come over from the other RWG. Liking the look of this place, very clean. After a period of staying away from the replica scene to avoid buying yet another one I'm back -WITH A VENGANCE (and a fully loaded pp account)
