  1. Own gens and reps and rotate them regularly depending on mood. Today I'm wearing my 'Bond' Seamaster, tommorrow maybe Sinn U1 or Tag Link rep- who knows!
  2. I always thought Shrek was the troll not Lord Farquar
  3. Nice one Dani, perfectly put and I think your English is easily comprehensible, just ignore the troll.
  4. I don't converse with people who can't seem to keep a civil tongue in their heads and therefore have no further interest in replying to you further on this or any other topic. I will of course continue to share my opinion with those capable of conversing without resorting to childish name calling.
  5. I'm no blind rossi fan and I'm sure Stoner is a nice guy when you aren't kicking his ass on track. However he showed his true colours by refusing to shake Rossi's hand, hard racing or no hard racing it's the mark of a weak man who just lost a lot of respect by his petulant behaviour. Regarding his brilliant use of modern electronics (and I mean that sincerely)- he's the master at getting the most out of the Duke's electronic aids. Take them away and he'd be a crasher just like he always used to be. I too also hope we see more of these battles and also that we might see a single tyre manufacturer and NO electronic aids at some point in the future. Then we'll see who has really got the talent.
  6. One of the all time greats of recent years. Shame Stoner is a bad loser as well as a smug, traction control reliant winner. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport...kes/7516510.stm
  7. Which part is a crock of 's-hit'? The fact the US$ is on it's way to being a junk currency compared to the euro or even sick old sterling? Or the fact that a green glass milgauss is selling at twice its list price? Do enlighten me.
  8. According to some AD's I've been talking to the market in watches that don't depreciate much ie Rolex is stronger than ever as people use them as a hedge against possible inflation denuding the value of their capital. There's a strong argument that the right steel sports Rolex is going to hold it's value better than US$ in the bank, particularly as that currency seems to be heading out of the toilet and down the drain faster than you can say 'national debt'.
  9. So far I've had Sinn U1, Flieger 356 and 556 (amg version)- sold the 356 and bought..... Omega Seamaster 2531.80 (which I'm going to sell) and a 'Moon watch' which I'm keeping. Lastly I developed a real expensive habit and went by way of a non-date sub to the now discontinued Seadweller 16600. Although I'm back in the rep game now I've still got my name down for a green glass Milgauss. Oh and a not-to-be-underestimated radio controlled G Shock Mudman picked up at the bargain price of US$90.
  10. Cheers Ken,I'm still eurotrash so I think I'll dip my toes in the water with the TAG and see how things go from there.
  11. I stopped my rep habit, sold most of them and got into gens. I now own a whole bunch of gens just like I did reps, I merely replaced one habit for another more expensive one. Think of it like 'graduating' from marijuana to crack cocaine. On the flipside I'm now back here again to smoke some reefer.
  12. Cheers! Of course I'll pay to list the adverts, as in the past I'm keen to support the site financially. What I could do with is an idea of what price to pitch them at in today's market. I thought about the auction, however I'm planning to list a genuine Omega 'Bond' Seamaster and can't afford to donate 10% of that at the moment. We will see however but I'll still need some help with reserve pricing for the auction. PM would be great if you don't want to post here.
  13. Hopefully I'm not treading on anyone's toes here and this categorically is NOT an attempt to sell without donating to the board. The watches will be posted in the for sale forum when I have an idea what price to pitch them at. I've been out of the loop for a while now having become jaded with the rep scene/politics but I'm back and planning a whole new string of foolish purchases! However I need some help from those of you who have kept up with things, namely I am planning to sell a couple of reps here and I need to know what sort of price (euro or GBP) I should be pitching them at. 1. A noobmariner in as new condition 2. An asian 7750 (the high beat more reliable one) Tag link chrono black face/non brushed bezel in very good condition. Any help you can give me regarding the value would be much appreciated.
  14. Let me guess you never even looked under the bonnet and it's an auto........yet you can strip down your piece blindfolded in a dark room. You've gone native girl.
  15. Pimping. I love cars and watches, a thread with them both is like manna to me. Much as I love the 8 there's only one big beemer for me despite having had more of them than you can shake a stick at this was my favourite. E24 M6 with the heart of a supercar............
  16. Someone send him a Paul Newman to review. This is a great review as usual.
  17. I advocate punishment of anyone that deserves it.
  18. Nice watch, the strap looks unlike those you usually see on these vintage Seamasters. Enjoy wearing it.
  19. I have no idea what your problem is but let me make two things perfectly clear. 1. I'm not against other people having the title 'VIP', it's just not something I feel comfortable with. 2. I don't support North Korea or any other evil empire.
  20. Cheers Ken, but I don't mind our cousins who live in the 'evil empire' having a crack at me. It's like being savaged by wet fish.
  21. I feel bad that people like Mezz don't understand what's going on here and have felt the need to leave. I also feel bad about being labelled a 'piece of [censored] loser' or similar just because I don't have (or want) a 'VIP' tag next to my name. This isn't what I thought this community was about and I know it isn't the way T or the rest of the admin feel about it. Bottom line is this place needs to be paid for. Some of us try and make sure that happens. Happily it seems to work out each time the need is felt. Surely that's all that matters? All the name calling and recriminations is the type of bad karma I cam here to avoid.
  22. I'm no expert but it looks pretty close to my genuine. Sneaky not to show us a shot of the HE escape valve.
  23. I'll consider it Ssurfer, you make a good point. I just hate the idea of an elite based on the ability to pay. In an ideal world I guess everyone who found the board of value would pay to keep it running.
  24. A seriously good idea, I nearly missed the threads asking for a contribution despite visiting regularly as I just don't look at everything on the board. It needs to stand out more. I'm also thinking of making a regular (monthly) contribution to the running of the board without having to have a 'VIP' membership which as I've said before I'm not really in favour of.
  25. I see what you're saying and agree with most of it, I just can't help thinking that if I was one of the freeloaders naming me as an active user who hadn't paid would probably put my back up and have the opposite effect to that which is intended. Of course any regular user of the site who has found it informative should make a small contribution. Those that don't are effectively in danger of killing the goose that laid the golden egg.
