I was lucky enough to stumble upon TRC / RWG in early December and a few weeks later had read about as much as I could. Ordered a Swiss SOSF just before Christmas and got it in January after the shipping delay. Have never been so stunned by a watch in all my life. I still marvel when I look at it - it will be amazing after the superlume is complete!

QC aside, get the crystal sent off to Chieftang or K2222 for some cleaning and AR. It'll change the entire watch.

+1. With the crystal off you can ensure the entire dial and crystal are completely clean, and the AR will look more authentic to the gen anyway.

Not sure where you got that from, there are quite a few highly accurate Tag reps, including the Aquaracer, Carrera, Link, Golf, etc. They obviously just rushed the first generation of GC reps.

There are reps around, but by all accounts they're not particularly amazing just yet. I think I remember reading somewhere that a 1:1 rep is on the way, but I could be wrong.

My personal opinion is that as long as you get something from a reputable manufacturer with a solid top, you are going to get a decent guitar. Yamaha is certainly a good brand, excellent value. I recommend spending the money to get it set up by a good guitar tech, it will make ALL the difference to having it be nice to play. I generally buy used these days, and try in person, and like to buy well-used guitars in good overall structural shape. I prefer having some scratches and dings as it shows that it has been played, and will probably sound better. As long as the neck is straight and the frets are in nice condition, you're pretty much in business and a good setup will have it playing better than new.

I've handled the genuine (all-gold version about GBP25k), and while it was nice, it did not feel like a GBP25k watch.

I have the black and white one, and it works brilliantly... it is very noisy when winding though, there's a loud ratcheting sound.

It does make you wonder about eggs... although presumably you have people transporting rare or collectible eggs.

ALWAYS demand a refund if the delivery date was later than promised. Three weeks for a three day service would have me raising all kinds of hell with Parcelforce, believe you me.

Royal Mail have NEVER been late on any of my Special Delivery packages. Almost annoys me sometimes as I'd rather wait an extra day and get the money back.

FWIW I have always found Royal Mail to do a better job of delivery than ParcelForce when you use recorded or special delivery.

I use Royal Mail international signed for.

I saw the gen or a similar model at an AD over the weekend. Nice watch, a bit small for me.

I don't play Golf either, but the watch I do like,

$120, hmm. I havew the rubber rep strap and the gen leather. Might have to pick up the gen rubber too.

You could try realigning the bezel when you replace the datewheel. I'm not sure, I haven't seen this model up close as mine is still with Jakub getting AR. I am getting the datewheel replaced on my Link too.
