That is good news.

The strap looks great. Is it marked on the inside?
-
That is useful info - thanks!
-
The buckle side is 18mm as well though. Is that the same on the Breitling deployments?

Hi itseme......no waiting ALL pieces were and are in my stock.....with the exception of some GMT's.....I'm working in the background to solve that....if I can't I'll be offering some options......sorry I've not been on the forum much.....still have this flu' bug.....!
Awesome, does that mean we'll see them any day now?
-
yeah! It was a concern for me too, but don't worry about it... even the bob deployment is a 22/20 and works/looks just fine!
The BOB deployment is adverised as a 22/18, and that is exactly what mine is.

I never liked the SFSO on the bracelet. A nice strap does it for me.

Yeah, surprised at the choice of Carrera Twin-Time. Certainly wouldn't be my choice of "if I only had one" watch.

Someone said they were doing some maintenance.

He is and comes highly recommended.
I've PM'd him many times and received no response, perhaps he doesn't deal with newbies.

Italian customs is a nightmare.

I've actually been tempted to get one of those Timex Indiglo watches for sleeping.
-
Nice to see Kimi with a Carrera. I don't really like the Tag F1 watches.

I'm not a Rolex fan, having sold my Noob-Sub and my Daytona but I actually like the Yachtie and have bought one (to keep !) That's a great shot B-T !!
I also have one on the way from TTK in the recent group buy. The only problem is I doubt I will ever wear it, I can't pull of a Rollie.
-
I personally think it's the best-looking Rollie, bar possibly the Daytona.

What are the tells?

I usually sleep with a watch on, I don't tend to flail about when asleep. However, I no longer shower with my watches on - the last time I had one of my watch batteries changed, the watchmaker asked me if I showered with my watch on. I said yes, and he told me that the hot shower water had dried out the gasket seals to the caseback almost completely.
Also nowadays I tend to wear leather straps so they would get damaged by showering with them. I like deployments for this reason.
-
Nice. I didn't realise the mesh band was in links / segments.

just found this thread.
Is it too late for me to get in on this group buy? I'd like an LV.
You're long, long, long overdue!
TTK, maybe put a bit of text on the first line of the OP - THIS BUY IS CLOSED!

I agree that the best solution would be Asian movements w/ similar QC to the Swiss counterparts but I don't think this will happen. For example, why improve quality when your competitor's product has increased in price dramatically ... this just makes your existing product more appealing based on the price differential. Cheaper ETAs would be an incentive to improve quality (more competition), not pricier ones.
Because if a high-quality, reliable Asian movement became available that was, say, half the price of the equivalent ETA, mid-level watchmakers might decide that it's not worth ponying up for higher ETA prices... admittedly the "Swiss Made" or Swiss movement label still carries a premium.
-
If the Asian movement factories could tighten up their QC and improve the quality of their finishing, lubrication etc, they could potentially be a huge threat to ETA. Imagine a new A7750 movement finished to ETA-level quality.

Just carry yourself like you're worth the watch you're wearing. It does help if you're not wearing a watch which is obviously out of your league (a rep of $30,000 watch when you can't afford to buy beer).

I spotted a (reasonably well-used) gen buckle on eBay and snapped it up immediately. Put it on my leather (rep) strap tonight, and it's AMAZING what a difference it makes. The engraving is so much better than the stamped logo on the rep buckle, and suddenly the whole watch looks more "genuine". Recommended upgrade if you have the opportunity.
Now if only the gen deployment clasps were as inexpensive...

I wonder if they are working on the new straps too (rubber and mesh), since those are what you would expect to find the Heritage on.
Question about a crystal on a watch

Did a quick Google search, and saw it come up on a couple PAM homages on eBay. I then did a quick search on sapphire, mineral glass and acrylic glass... and acrylic glass has the molecular formula of (C5O2H8)n... my chemistry is VERY rusty, but I think the n indicates a polymer strand, so my guess is that carbo-hydrogen polymer is an unnnecessarily fancypants name that indicates acrylic glass.
