vlydog Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 I was wearing my WM9 sub today and a man standing next to me was wearing what I assumed was a genuine 16610. I noticed that the crystal height of his watch seemed higher than mine. Does anyone have a profile picture that would help solve this mystery?
By-Tor Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 WM9 crystal height is a bit higher than my gen 16710 GMT II. I don't know if Sub has higher crystal or not. I would think so. I think it's pretty much spot on.
Pugwash Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 I was wearing my WM9 sub today and a man standing next to me was wearing what I assumed was a genuine 16610. ... and that was your first mistake.
ubiquitous Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 WM9 crystal height is likely going to be just a touch shorter than gen; when I upgraded my WM9 to a gen 295C, I also switched to a H2 gasket as it was necessary to fit with the gen bezel assembly. There was a bit of a difference...
JoJo35 Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 Here's a couple pics of mine B. The first one shows my franken 16613 over my gen "A" series. You can see that the crystal is slightly higher on the A series watch than the franken. My franken has a gen bezel, gen insert, gen crystal. I'm still searching for a gen crystal retainer ring for it (if anyone can help, please PM me!). When RG was kind enough to build and service the watch for me, I sent up a new crystal gasket with the project, but I wasn't sure of the part number of the gasket I sent him, so it may not be the correct height. I'm still considering buying a new 295-2 gasket form the bay and installing it.
