newbie question: how to set my SuperOcean?

Hello, I received my Steelfish Superocean today from TrustyTime - I am very impressed with the construction and feel. I am trying to set it, and I assume it's like all my other watches in that you simply pull the [censored] out to the first or second position to set the date/time respectively. On my particular watch, I am unable to pull out this [censored] although I have even tried prying gently with a jeweler's screwdriver. Is there some step I am missing? Is the [censored] merely for decoration and I have to open the back to set it?

Dont forget to screw it back down after your time is set! Also, try to push down and feel the threads line up by screwing backwards before you tighten it down, to prevent cross threading.

Thanks very much for the information, all.

One more thing: can I wind the spring by hand with the crown?

You should only slowly hand wind to get the watch started if needed. Not a good idea to do it any more than that.

Hi DrXenon

Welcome to the forum !

By the way and for your interest the technical term for "[censored]" is "crown". You'll notice that "crown" doesn't get censored but "K.N.O.B." does !!
