Brightight
I'm building a Franken DJ, SS with Silver dial/white gold markers. Does the gen have a white or a silver date ring (both with black numbers) or can it be either?
SilverG
I dont know what you are talking about... can you further elaborate?
alligoat
The datewheel should be white. If you're using an eta movement, you'll need a datewheel overlay which glues to the eta datewheel- try www.cubic-works.com. I've never seen a silver datewheel on a DJ. freddy333
Ditto Alli. White datewheel for steel & champagne datewheel for gold & two-tone.
Brightight
Thanks all, that's what I needed to know. I know I can use a 3135 DW as an overlay on the 2824-2 with Stilty's movement ring and I found a gen one that was silver so I wondered......... alligoat
I've never seen a gen datewheel with the correct rotation for an ETA in silver (3055, 3135). Silver datewheels were used on the 1570 movements (1680, 1665) and Stephane has one on an early 16800 (3035)- early 80's. After that, I thought only white (or champagne) was used on gen Rolex DW's. Interesting.
