Katerchen
Hi there @ all Audemars Piguet lovers Decided to post this, because obviously there hasnt been much discussion about differences concerning the "old" first run or batch model of the AP Royal Oak mbk/mbw version and the new version... Yes, its right... i wouldnt call this properly a continuation of the so called "ceased" model. To be more precise its a "new version" of the old mbk AP RO jumbo 15202ST replica with major differences to the first run! Another thing i couldnt fully understand is why nobody else beeing so picky about other reps and rehauts pointed this new flaws out, although there have been already some successful attempst made to mod this replica by respected members here... There have been WG Plating - by RedBig... and for example Screw-Fitting, Hands-moding by Randy/Ubi Not to foget moding the bracelet which i also did on 2 of my reps - this is an urgent mod for comfort! I decided to use existing pics of the watch - to be true, i was way too lazy Sorry george - pls dont forget ---> all pictures by courtesy of Watchmaker9.tv thank you! This picutures seem to be predetermined for a comparison: Thanxs a lot! Whoever is lucky enough to get (i own 2 of them) one of the first batch models with old-style dial is the lucky beggar... Rolexfinder
Nice topic, George. I dont know why does he have to change to source of his parts...
Katerchen
I dont know why does he have to change to source of his parts... yup... you are damn right. ...and i would be very pleased if not only few of the AP RO jumbo owners (there are lots on RWG for ex.) could stand up and take a look on their wrist to determine which version they own... it would be VERY interesting too to hear what our trusted rep dealer can say and/or confirm about "version 1" and "version 2"!? Eurotimez/Chris comes to my mind but there are also smaller dealers with mbk/thai sources. So... who is able to source the "good" or better version of the 2? Or even spare-parts... Im interested in a spare dial for example.
Rolexfinder
I can try to replicate the dial if you have the gen dial. Just gather everyone here who want the most accurate dial for AP.
Katerchen
I can try to replicate the dial if you have the gen dial. Just gather everyone here who want the most accurate dial for AP. Are you serious?? Replicate? By means of replicating the printing/letters or entire dial? ...ive got to get me some sleep now I know that a genuine AP 15202ST Dial is about 650,-
Rolexfinder
Yes, I can replicate the dial if I have the genuine one. How about we find the dial and replicate it from there? Cheers, Paul

Katerchen
@rolexfinder pls be a little bit more precise about your abilities to replicate a genuine dial because i might be able to get one - youve got PM!! i dont want to discuss this here because the "contact" i have is quite a delicate one, its NOT beneficial for me to getting in contact with this person at any time - unless i am sure i want to buy something and i have to do preorder and prepayment! Its simple as 1,2,3 to the readers down here, that if this person even gets the slightest doubt that my request/acquisition could have anything to do with replica-watches it would be the last time he would offer anything to me or just mention prices of gen parts! So please get in touch with me private. I am willing to get in contact with this person if this is a "good possibility" to achieve an even more stunning AP Jumbo rep to the members here. If theres a possible and neat way to replicate the gen dial for you Paul, than paying 650,-

theblueprince
I had the old batch with a new bacth dial and a GEN ETA movement with standard deleted second hand (i forget the movement number) and a new date wheel too. Was without doubt the best rep of these i've seen.
Katerchen
Ok people... Paul will get in touch with his dial-manufacturer. I guess he will let us know the outcome (pics of replicated/manufactured dials might be very helpful) Another thing thats VERY important to me: HOW MANY of you folks are interested in a CLONING-PROJECT of the genuine AP Dial?? Please POST inside this thread... The reason i ask is because i am not going to contact the person i know before we made up our minds (together) how we split up the amount (maybe about 650,- Euro) necessary for preordering and prepaying the dial. This price ive been told about a year ago (650 Euro) for an AP jumbo 15202ST dial. If there are enough interested members willing to spent an amount to finance the 650,-

Katerchen
I would be in 1.rolexfinder 2.(myself) 3.aanival so far so good. pls also do mention what amount you are willing to pay... i would be in with 50 up to 100 Euro depends also on quality of Mr. Rolexfinder replication technique but i guess Paul will keep us informed. Also pls remember that your(our) money will be spent on a gen dial. I have NO idea what price will be the replication of this thing... But let me guess... with all the members that already own an MBK/MBW jumbo or people that consider getting one. This project will be able to be "refinanced" just by the number of people willing to buy a good reped dial!? I really have no clue, but i think that if a good replication of a Jumbo-Dial will exist - at least I woluld be willing to spent (again) 50-

Katerchen
I m in for 65 euros, who gets original dial when the project is completed ? LOL @specialvat... good one! And i thought i already did consider everything. No... you are goddamn right! At the moment there is one idea coming to my mind: 1.) Presumed that the genuine dial will survive the "process of replication" and 2.) presumed that the option of portioning/cutting the GEN dial is utter bull_shit i propose to auction the genuine dial at the end of the project, spending the asset-money either 1. to the board or 2. to the members that made the purchase of the gen dial possible with their deposit! So what do you think?? And @specialvat you are giving me a very good "impulse" with youre "65" Euros!! I think if the price is still 650 Euros for me and my contact is still able to source us the needed part, a "deposit" of 10% seems to be fair to me or even to others. So what does this means to me? K... if we do find 10 Persons willing to spent 65,- Edited October 16, 2009 by Katerchen

rosnik
Sorry Katerchen, I'm just not plenty convinced if the result would be like gen. It's a really difficult 3D dial......... Sorry, but I prefer to see the final product before to get my "I'm inn" .
Katerchen
Sorry Katerchen... No "sorry-situation" down here the same goes with me... im also waitin to get some more specific infos about the possible results of a dial cloning. Rolexfinder got my PM, i guess hes waitin confirmation/infos from his dial-manufacturer. I guess the best will be to start a second thread if the quality of the replicated dials (i guess it should be possible to post some pics of allready produced dials of this manufacturer) is good enough to give this project a try with a genuine sample. This issues have to be sorted out before i try to get in contact with my contact. So i we have to work close together... nobody would benefit of a situation for ex. having bought a gen dial (thru a group of members) without having a good possibility of cloning this thing I guess its Rolexfinders turn now. We have to be patient... I really cross my fingers and hope that if i call my contact again, he would say "k, what ref., color, price is..., drop me the cash... approximate time will be bla bla." I hope this will work out for all of us! Lets see. George
