kbh Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Check this out you experts. I was looking seriously at this but the"L" under the crown looks terrible and the 2 "m"'s don't seem to line up correctly. Guy has 100% and over 2000 positive feedbacks. Comex Dial
ubiquitous Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Absolutely fake. Wrong font. Wrong markers. Wrong shape of COMEX logo. Wrong shape of markers/indicies. Crappy date window bevel. Wrong finish to the back of the dial. Wrong font type used for the Singer logo on the back. This looks to be a HK printed dial.
Nanuq Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 The quickest "tell" for a COMEX is the letter "O". It should be squared on the inside of the hole, and rounded on the outside. Almost everyone gets that wrong.
ubiquitous Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 I would agree, though some have been able to get it right BC's silkscreened Comex dial.
trailboss Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 dismounted a wreck of 1665.i do not know the history of this dial Giving himself an out as well. How the hell do you wreck a 1665 short of driving a tank over it? Col.
kbh Posted October 27, 2009 Author Report Posted October 27, 2009 I politely sent him a link to a page that showed that dial as a known fake. He e-mailed me back saying he was aware of the link. He obviously doesn't care that it's fake.
