My first Rep circa 1992

I dug up my first rep from 1992 that an uncle brought back for me from Thailand.

I always thought it looked pretty good (and still do!), but I'd like to hear from the experts how this older DJ compares to today's modern rep.

thanks for helping me with a blast from the past!

I would say that the color of the dial is stunning :Jumpy: The only thing I would ask, is how well has the gold lasted? If you were to transplant the movement/dial and hands, entirely 'as is' into a modern two tone DJ case, you'd have a very nice watch :):victory:

thanks!!! Yes, the dial is stunning indeed... I think that's what sells it.

The gold has been doing fairly well for a watch that's almost 20 years old. The case, bezel, and crown still look amazing, but the gold on the bracelet's center links are showing some fading.

How does the date wheel look?

The funny thing is it still keep fantastic time and never been serviced!

The datewheel looks good to me :) The full gold and two-tone Rolexes always have the champagne-colored datewheels, so that's accurate :) I'm no expert on datewheel fonts, so I can't say for sure there, but, I would say that it certainly looks nice and clear :) A fine watch indeed :good:
