blackbard
I have read someplace that there is a replica 7753 out there. Does anyone know if this is true and how to get a hold of one?
slickdick
Havent seen a true asian 7753, there is a a7750 with the same dial layout however. But these are not direct interchangeble because the date is in different place, and if i recall correctly the a7750 tri-compax is slightly thicker. blackbard
Thanks. I suppose they add something to the 7750 to have the layout...I wonder if the A7750 will fit with this layout in a 7753 Gen case a la Hamilton...

The 7753 date wheel is bigger in diameter thus making it further outboard then the 7750. This will cause the dial window to shadow over the DW numbers. If you are going for the tricompax layout, the standard mod to the A7750 is below: The new version of this movement with the tighter subdial spacing and the less-sunken datewheel was reviewed here with details on assembly and operation: Francisco's New Tricompax A7750 Review The extra bridges would likely make the movement too thick to fit in a 7753 case without mods.
