jmb
Fresh from idolreplicas.com, here is the latest addition to my "budget stable", I guess this would be a first cousin to the black bezeled example that condemore posted about a few weeks ago. Although, at $108, this one wasn't as "budget friendly" as the majority of my purchases it doesn't need quite as many mods so I guess it all comes out as a wash in the end. I'm not going to waste a lot of bandwidth analyzing this thing as I'm far from being an expert but I will make a few observations. Fit and finish are excellent, the end-link to lug fit seems superb and polishing and brushing appear flawless. The bi-directional bezel rotates smoothly and stays where you put it. The a21j movement sweeps fairly smoothly and the GMT hand is independently adjustable. The watch has the correct twin-lock 6mm crown, through lug-holes, tall plexi crystal w/cyclops, and non-SEL band which looks to be the correct style (albeit with the usual incorrect embossed scrolling around "Rolex") for this model. I like it - nuff said, here's some pics:

TeeJay
As on the wristshot, that's a fine watch, bro Looking at that, I could be tempted to buy one to use as a case donor for a Tudor project
jmb
Thanks, TeeJay,I kinda like it but it seems a bit extreme to hack it up and make it a donor! Did you get your 1655 yet?
freddy333
Ditto rosnik. If you can locate a more accurate dial & datewheel, you might have something there.
TeeJay
Thanks, TeeJay,I kinda like it but it seems a bit extreme to hack it up and make it a donor! Did you get your 1655 yet? I'm still waiting on the 1655, as the postal service is going through a few strikes at the moment... All I'd be doing with regards a Tudor project, would be to remove the bezel insert, and then swap in the Tudor dial and bracelet, no hacking about, and probably only mild aging
