nikki6
It's scary what these things go for on there!! On the UK Bay, there are a TON of TAG and Omega reps gong for crazy money!! Seems to be the big 2 at the moment to get scammed for! Sixx

The average Joe Sixpack knows all about fake Rolexes, but probably doesn't have a clue that the industry replicates the other brands as well... PeteM
reported I know I must be being thick here but why would you or anyone here take the time to report it? Is there a forum protocol on reps/fakes being advertised on Ebay? Is it just the ones being passed off or implied as being genuine?
jchurch
Stopping someone from getting scammed is good vibes. I guess one could just as well just sit back and watch it go down. I would thank someone for pointing out a scam if I was going to be taken by it. Personally if someone wants to sell a replica anywhere that is fine. I think they should be reported if they are passing it off as the genuine article though. I know I must be being thick here but why would you or anyone here take the time to report it? P4GTR
I know I must be being thick here but why would you or anyone here take the time to report it? Is there a forum protocol on reps/fakes being advertised on Ebay? Is it just the ones being passed off or implied as being genuine? Really, its the right thing to do. What we do here could be misconstrued. Think about some of our pieces or works, some frankens around here landing in the wrong hands. Innocent people could be robbed of thousands of dollars. That makes us look bad, and draws unneeded attention which ends up causing problems for the rest of us that just want a couple cool modded reps for personal use. jazz4ivo
The pics on ebay are not very high rez so it's hard to see it's a fake
vulcangascompany
Yes I reported it but even though it must have received quite a few reports it wasn't pulled..
PeteM
Of course I dont agree with any one passing off rep as gen and yes I agree on the Karma side of it. No I just wondered if there was a 'watch squad' (watch- as in looking out for) on here. To be honest the reason given by P4GTR wasnt something that had crossed my mind and now he says it. its obvious and potentially very damaging to this rep world. So thanks for the answers. I am surprised Ebay didnt remove it though I thought thy were hot on this especially if reported.
Rxus
I would guess ebay has some system to check for reported items, maybe they simply email the seller to provide some proof as in receipts or Serial #'s. But in all buying any item over a few hundred dollars from an online auction site should always be considered as "Buy at your own risk" I don't care if it's a big company like ebay or the many other knock-offs.
