Help Painting Hands and Re-Luming

Ronin

Recommended Posts

So-- I am trying to replicate the "White" seconds hand on the Rolex 6536/6538.

First attempt using Testers White Enamel paint and a superfine 0 brush did not go well.

While removing the bad paint job, the lume dot also was removed/dissolved.

Any advice on 1.) Painting Hands, and 2.) Recreating the lume on the hand.

TIA,

Excellent. Thanks Francisco, that is what the Dr. ordered.

In your post you strip the hands in Acetone because they were previously painted. In my scenario, the hand I wish to repaint is a Glit hand (reproduction from eBay). Is this gold paint, gold plated, brass, etc? Should I follow the same stripping method on that?

THANKS,

No. I used acetone because I wanted to repaint hands. If you only want to relume...do not use acetone.
