Which one of you won this Explorer I dial on Ebay?

I am still ticked I didn't get it. This was to be the base for my 1016 project

I suppose this is a moot point now, but with that dial I think it would have been more of a 6610 project.

Condolences for your loss, regardless!

EDIT: I originally wrote '6350', which I now think is incorrect.

I'm with you LH, I still can't keep the early models straight. Here's a brief history from Dowling and Hess:

OCC dials were used until around '63 or so when they were replaced w/ SCOC dials. Also, Swiss dials (using radium)went out about the same time as Rolex started using tritium, hence the Swiss-T<25 came into existence.

So this is an early 1016 dial, which explains the high price, I guess. It would be worth it if you had a gen where you needed to replace the dial, but not for a franken, IMO. But different strokes for different folks.
