XRT Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 This is going to be such an awesome piece...I keep waiting to see a movement make its' way into this case (I'm sure you are too.)
ubiquitous Posted March 14, 2006 Author Report Posted March 14, 2006 Heehee... I'm working on it! Everytime I'm ready to get my hands on a movement, I find that there are none available. So, I go and spend the money on furniture and stuff, and sure enough, once the funds are gone, a movement turns up (and at a great price I might add). *sigh*
slickdick Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 Nice project, i am working on one of these myself
ehtolcad Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 and here i was thinking that you had gotten the movement...good luck on the quest randy
ehtolcad Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 he's building up a daytona. doesn't have the movement yet. compare this case and dial to the ones that are more readily available and then you should see the light.
ubiquitous Posted March 20, 2006 Author Report Posted March 20, 2006 Correct. Building a 16520 from parts. Genuine: Case Bezel Crystal Crown/tube Pushers Dial is a reprint on a genuine Rolex blank. Side by side with it's vintage counterpart: All I need to add is an El Primero 400.
tallguy83 Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 @Ubi I am in awe of the commitment the likes of you, RBJ, Lawendamon (is he here under a new name) and others to make these super-sweet one off Rolexes. My hat is off to all of you. NOW FIND THAT MOVEMENT!
