It may be a nice movie. But Daniel Craig is NOT James Bond...

No [censored]! Daniel Craig isn't James Bond. Neither was Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan or even David Niven and Woody Allen for that matter. They were all actors playing the part.

Daniel Craig will do it well. If he doesn't fit with your experiences or expectations then tough [censored]. Its fiction.

with the rough face of a professional boxer and a penchant for playing killers, cranks, cads and gigolos. :whistling:

Your description of Daniel Craig fits rather well with Ian Fleming's version of Bond.... :g:

MUCH closer to Fleming's description of Bond-- Fleming described him as looking like Hoagy Carmichael -- certainly not what one wold consider refined and pretty.

Someone who knows what they are talking about. He's an ex Naval Commander, not a former supermodel!

Damn... Casino Royale looks like it's going to be a good one, regardless of who is playing 007. I had to watch the trailer twice, just for the Aston Martin alone.

^_^

Some scene that one!! They actually rolled the car (two of them in fact) - no Matrix style CGI for that. The lighting was played with a bit though.... ;)

I think also military training and background in this. And as i look out of my window i dont see many soldiers that would look good on a catwalk. I think he will do well.

yep, I am a huge fan of the Fleming books and short stories-- Great writing? no. But wonderful documents of the time (1950's- 1960's)--

Bond was very much a character of the post WWII/Cold War era-- not dependant on gadgetry, at times brutal, and not often introspective.

I have high hopes for this one....
