hon30
Hello, i have been a long time lurker and have acquired a 127 as a gift almost a year ago . there are some issues with it as i would expect and just wanted to ask the opinions of some experts just to improve the appearance. first off, i did try flattening the CG pin and polish it but that's about it. issues i want to fix is the crystal, it has a white shade around it. also the markers, hands are not same as the dial printing so is there a good source for these? i have read that DSN sells these but will it do the job? sorry to ask too many questions as i have been reading a lot of posts here and sometimes i get lost. here's the pics.. thanks in advance. cougaree
In situation like this, sometime it's cheaper just buying another rep with better dial and hands. You certainly don't want to spend tons of money on a watch may not be worth of modifing in the first place. You see the white stuff on the crystal is becasue the crystal is not anti-reflective coated. You can have it coated if you like (assuming the crystal is sapphire of course). The differences between the dial and hands... do you mean they lume differently? Reluming job will fix this problem (about $100 job).

Hi, i think the crystal might be just mineral that's probably why it has that white ring. the numbers and hands are actually the same in shade in person, it's the "panerai" and the rest of the letters are the ones that looks off. they are so much lighter in shade. thanks! PeteM
If you want to get a better version by modding or whatever, dont bother using that watch as a base. As you start to move around on here you will see what makes a good one and when your ready and when the opportunity arises buy the parts and or a better case to work with.
