My Franken UPO!

Just thought I'd post a few photos of my "work-in-progress" Franken UPO.

Mods being done include:

-Genuine Dial

-Replacement crown and tube

-AR re-work (stock AR on UPO only one sided and very poor IMHO)

-Full movement service (as we all know, the swiss movements normally need servicing as oils have dried up etc)

-Water proofing.

question: why not get the hands as well? they are cheap enough and the lume makes a huge difference.

Was gonna buy the hands too, but then I figured that the lume on the hands aint to dissimilar from that of the gen to be honest, so decided to give them a miss. There is only so much money I can spend. haha!

I have the gen, the franken (with dial and hands) and of course the old dial/hands from the UPO. I'm not sure what was your source but the the lume on the rep hands pale in comparison imho. Also the tip of the seconds hands is orange/red not pure red like the rep.

The hands are probably the cheapest of everything you have done there. Since you have to remove the hands to replace the dial that's usually something that most people do.
